The role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of major water, utility, and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will provide technical oversight of electrical construction, testing, commissioning, and quality assurance activities, ensuring systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Provide technical supervision of electrical installation and construction activities for power distribution and utility infrastructure systems.
- Review engineering drawings, technical submissions, equipment specifications, load schedules, and construction methodologies.
- Monitor manufacturing inspections, installation works, testing, commissioning, and performance verification activities to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
- Support factory and site acceptance testing, system integration activities, and operational readiness assessments.
- Conduct inspections and oversee quality assurance processes for electrical equipment, power systems, motor control installations, and associated infrastructure.
- Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
- Maintain inspection records, technical documentation, commissioning reports, and project progress reporting requirements.
- Review as-built documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, and support project closeout and handover activities.
- Provide technical guidance in troubleshooting, risk mitigation, system optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years' experience in electrical engineering, construction supervision, or delivery of major utility, industrial, water, or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience with electrical distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, motor control centres (MCCs), cabling, earthing systems, and backup or renewable power installations.
- Strong knowledge of electrical testing, commissioning, performance verification, and quality assurance practices.
- Experience reviewing technical drawings, engineering documentation, inspections, equipment submittals, and contractor deliverables.
- Excellent communication and technical reporting skills, with strong English language proficiency.
- Professional registration, experience with high-voltage systems, water or pumping facilities, industrial plants, renewable energy projects, or Arabic language capability would be advantageous.
