We're looking for a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join the Somewear team! Working from our Chicago office, you will help develop a platform that actually saves lives. Whether it's a brand new feature or improving core functionality, you'll build delightful experiences for customers that deeply rely on you. As a Somewear engineer, youʼll be working with and learning about a wide range of technology including our custom hardware, satellite tech, Bluetooth, sensors and 3rd party integrations. What you'll doLead schematic capture and board layouts for prototypes and new product lines
Lead prototype bring-up and validation
Design test fixtures for prototype validation, as well as production test jigs
Collaborate with antenna designers and RF consultants to optimize wireless performance
Collaborate with firmware engineers on component selection and feature implementation
Collaborate with mechanical engineers to maintain wireless performance, achieve a target form factor, and satisfy industrial design requirements
Perform power analysis and optimizations
Bring new features from concept to shipped product
Implement factory QA and automation processes to validate production boards
Troubleshoot and root cause hardware issues reported in the field
Iterate on existing and establish new engineering standards, tools, and processes
5 years of experience in developing consumer electronic grade products
Experience with electronics design automation EDA tools. Experience with Altium is preferred, but not required
A strong understanding of RF circuit design principles and best practices
Experience with electronic test equipment and common RF measurement techniques
Experience selecting and qualifying components for new designs
Experience designing small form factor and battery powered devices
Experience working with mechanical engineers and industrial designers to deliver user-centric products
Passion for understanding users and building life saving features
An interest in tough technical challenges
Ability to take ownership and bring an idea from conception to production
You will own projects end-to-end that will help shape our product
You will be challenged technically to iterate quickly and develop state of the art products
