We are seeking a Senior Electrical BIM Engineer to join the team onsite in the NYC metro area. This role blends hands-on electrical design with BIM leadership, offering the opportunity to drive coordination and execution on large-scale builds from concept through completion.
What You'll Do as the Senior Electrical BIM Engineer:
- Lead electrical system design across commercial, industrial, institutional, and mission-critical projects
- Build and manage detailed BIM models in Revit, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
- Perform key electrical calculations such as load analysis, voltage drop, fault current, and arc flash
- Review project drawings, specifications, and applicable codes to ensure compliance and constructability
- Drive coordination with architects, engineers, and trade partners through BIM meetings and clash detection workflows
- Support project teams with scheduling, RFIs, submittals, and change management
- Partner with field teams to resolve design challenges and ensure smooth installation
- Conduct site visits to validate existing conditions and support construction progress
- Maintain high standards for QA/QC and BIM deliverables
Must-Haves as the Senior Electrical BIM Engineer:
- 6+ years of electrical engineering experience within construction or design-build environments
- Advanced proficiency in Revit with a focus on electrical systems modeling and coordination
- Strong working knowledge of NEC and relevant electrical codes
- Ability to independently produce detailed construction documents and specifications
- Proven experience coordinating across multiple disciplines on complex projects
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead technical discussions
Nice-to-Haves as the Senior Electrical BIM Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Background working directly for an electrical contractor
- Experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revizto, Bluebeam, BIM 360 or ACC, and Procore
- Prior involvement in large-scale infrastructure or mission-critical builds
