What You Will Achieve
In this role, you will:
- Will be responsible for developing and implementing Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Management System to ensure compliance of all applicable laws and regulations, codes of practices and Pfizer EHS Standards and provide EHS technical guidance to support API plant operations not limited to essential programs such as risk management, job safety analysis, risk assessment, working at height, permit-to-work, electrical safety, confined space entry, life safety and construction safety.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify hazards, eliminate and/or minimize significant adverse impacts associated with changes.
- Participates / Conducts incident investigation using Method-1 tools to identify the root causes and to determine corrective/preventive measures to prevent a recurrence.
- Conduct regular internal audit to evaluate the effectiveness of the EHS programs and address the gaps/deviations in a timely manner.
- Conduct contractor pre-qualification assessments to assess the EHS performance of new contractors prior to working onsite.
- Develop and conduct EHS orientation and training for colleagues and in-house contractors as part of control/mitigation measures that identified during EHS impact and/or risk assessments.
- Develop and organize EHS promotion and education activities focusing on situational awareness among colleagues and contractors before starting their routine and/or non-routine work activities.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies (e.g. MOM, NEA, SCDF, SPF) in terms of site point-of-contact, follow-up and correspondences.
- Contribute innovative ideas to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of EHS Management System and Risk Management.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
- Degree in Safety / Mechanical Engineering or Technology / Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in pharmaceutical industry or petrochemical / oil refinery, chemicals manufacturing industry
- Demonstrated expertise in Environment Health & Safety, particularly in local applications
- Good knowledge and application of relevant regulatory laws and regulations, codes of practice and/or SS651
- Certified Workplace Safety & Health Officer is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, creativity in problem-solving, and flexibility
- Good written and oral communication abilities
