What you get to do:

  • Enthusiastically represents the organization by displaying a positive attitude and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job
  • Help educate park guests, school groups, camp participants and private groups about the animals in residence
  • Conduct informative and engaging animal presentations on microphone, behind the scenes tours, VIP experiences, sleepovers, camp and student programs
  • Act as department trainer for new staff
  • Coordinate specialty projects, such as curriculum development, staff training, or community outreach programs
  • Evaluate entry level staff on interpretive skills
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain all education program materials for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Fulfill primary responsibilities of all preceding job descriptions and perform other duties as assigned

What it takes to succeed:

  • At least 18 years old
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
  • Demonstrate high quality guest service and interpretation skills
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Previous experience training and developing staff preferred
  • Able to successfully complete all legal, company, and department training requirements to include, but not limited to, passing required tests and certifications within established timelines
  • Available to work varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid- and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to follow all park and departmental policies and procedures
  • Willing to comply with all SEA grooming guidelines, safety, and employment standards

  • Able to lift, push and pull 25 pounds
  • Able to work in all weather conditions
