Job Summary:

The Senior Education Specialist supports the design, development, and implementation of innovative educational technology and digital learning solutions across the Geisinger College of Health Sciences. This role partners with faculty, staff, and institutional stakeholders to create engaging, high-quality learning experiences, with a focus on practical application in health professions education. The individual contributes to content development, instructional design, and the use of educational data to enhance program effectiveness, while demonstrating adaptability, self-directed learning, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Job Duties:

  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and stakeholders to design and develop digital learning experiences using a range of educational technology platforms. 

  • Develops and supports microlearning content and other digital educational resources for delivery through learning management systems and related platforms. 

  • Applies instructional design principles to create engaging, learner-centered educational materials that support knowledge application in clinical and professional contexts. 

  • Utilizes educational technology tools such as Articulate, 7Taps, Canva, Canvas, EthosCE, Powtoon, or comparable platforms to develop and enhance content. 

  • Demonstrates the ability to learn and implement new technologies independently and adapt quickly to evolving tools and platforms. 

  • Assists in the collection, organization, and analysis of educational data to support continuous quality improvement and educational scholarship. 

  • Generates reports from learning management systems and performs basic data cleaning, summarization, and visualization to inform program decisions. 

  • Contributes to the development of efficient workflows for content creation and program delivery, including the use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. 

  • Works both independently and collaboratively on a variety of projects, managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. 

  • Supports the expansion of educational technology services across the institution by partnering with diverse programs and learning environments. 

  • Maintains current knowledge of educational technology trends, tools, and effective practices in digital learning and instructional design.
