About the opportunity

This position has been designated for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only under section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW)

The University of Sydney Library is seeking an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person with experience in either information and digital literacy, learning design or student learning support to contribute to a project embedding First Nations knowledges, perspectives and ways of learning into Library learning resources.

This role supports the University’s One Sydney, Many People strategy and the University’s Indigenising the Curriculum work. You will collaborate with teams across the Library and the University to help develop culturally informed resources that support students to respectfully find, evaluate, use, reference and communicate information, including First Nations knowledges and materials.

You will bring your cultural knowledge, professional experience and understanding of student learning to help shape practical resources such as Canvas modules, web content, assessment guidance, staff support materials and related learning resources.

This role also includes project coordination, such as planning, documentation, communication and evaluation. The work will help make First Nations knowledges more visible, accessible and respectfully used in student learning, with resources that can continue to support teaching and learning beyond the life of the project.

About you
  • identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, in accordance with the University of Sydney Confirmation of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Identity Policy and Procedures
  • bring cultural knowledge and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, knowledges, communities or materials
  • have experience in either information and digital literacy, learning design, student learning support or a related education setting, and understand how students use information in their studies
  • can plan and document project work, communicate clearly with others, and contribute to practical learning resources
