Overview

The Business of Fashion is seeking a Senior Editorial Associate to apply strong reporting, writing and editing skills to the development of scoops, news analyses and features to support our coverage of UK fashion and beyond. This is an exciting opportunity to join the global leader in professional content and services for the fashion and beauty industries. This role is based in London.

What We Need You To Do

  • Deliver agenda-setting exclusives, insightful news analyses and sophisticated analytical-style features for a target audience of intelligent, globally-minded fashion industry decision-makers while meeting tight deadlines and weekly targets:
  • 1 feature piece per week
  • Daily news coverage, as required, incl. syndicating  stories from news wires.
  • Core Beat Focus: UK Fashion including London’s emerging designers scene, British luxury brands, department stores and e-tailers
  • Contribute to coverage of London Fashion Week
  • Act as a brand ambassador to further BoF’s industry relationships in London’s fashion ecosystem

Who You Are

  • Professional experience reporting and/or editing fashion and business stories
  • Knowledge of business reporting methods
  • Sophisticated grasp of the fashion business
  • Acute news judgment
  • Well-rounded awareness of cultural, consumer and economic trends
  • Sophisticated understanding of BoF’s target audience of intelligent, global executives, entrepreneurs and creatives
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, perform under pressure, command authority and be agile enough to manage multiple stories at the same time with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of a 24-hour news cycle
  • Strong writing skills and an ability to tell complex stories with flair
  • Ability to cultivate high-level industry sources
