The Senior EDI Developer is responsible for the development, configuration, testing, and support of EDI integrations between internal ERP systems and external trading partners. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in EDI mapping, transaction processing, communication protocols, and issue resolution. Candidates must understand end-to-end EDI transaction flows, be able to manage onboarding of trading partners, and drive technical improvements and automation to reduce manual intervention.
In this role you will:
- Develop and maintain EDI maps based on customer implementation guides
- Support core retail transactions (e.g., Purchase Orders, ASNs, Invoices, Inventory updates)
- Ensure Standardization is maintained across EDI Customers
- Manage and troubleshoot trading partner connectivity (AS2, SFTP, VAN)
- Perform testing and validation for trading partner certifications
- Support integration between the EDI platform and ERP systems
Trading Partner Onboarding
- Support Onboarding new EDI Customers in the platform
- Translating partner requirements into technical mapping solutions
- Develop EDI integrations and transaction maps
- Coordinate testing and production go-live
- Ensure compliance with partner-specific standards
Production Support
- Monitor daily EDI transaction activity, Manage logs, Track tickets proactively
- Troubleshoot mapping errors, connectivity issues, and ERP posting failures
- Resolve failed transactions and ensure data accuracy
Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring issues and implement automation or technical fixes
- Optimize maps and workflows for performance and scalability
- Maintain documentation of EDI processes and support procedures

The Ideal Person:
- 3–5+ years of hands-on EDI development experience (Cleo preferred)
- Strong knowledge of ANSI X12 transaction lifecycle
- Experience integrating EDI with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred)
- Experience with modern EDI platforms (Cleo, SPS Commerce, True Commerce, Boomi, MuleSoft, IBM Sterling, or similar)
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Preferred
- Retail or wholesale industry experience
- Experience supporting high-volume EDI environments
- Exposure to API-based integrations
- Basic SQL knowledge for data validation and issue analysis
