The Senior Ecommerce Manager, Canada is responsible for leading, expanding, and optimizing Champion Petfoods' digital commerce footprint across Canada.
In this role, the incumbent will take ownership of the Canadian ecommerce commercial roadmap end to end—spanning commercial strategy, account operations, catalogue onboarding, and joint business planning through to ongoing performance management.
You will champion online sales growth, profitability, digital shelf excellence, and brand integrity across Canadian digital platforms.
What a typical day looks like:
- Commercial Strategy & Channel Management: Own and execute the digital commerce strategy in Canada, driving sustainable revenue, volume, and market share across key online accounts.
- Catalogue Onboarding & Operational Readiness: Lead end-to-end commercial operations for digital accounts, including new account setup, catalogue and master data onboarding, supply chain coordination, and promotional go-live planning.
- Annual Operating Plans & Forecasting: Partner with Demand Planning, Supply Chain, and Finance to develop accurate demand forecasts, inventory targets, and joint commercial plans.
- Digital Shelf & Merchandising Excellence: Deliver best-in-class execution across product detail pages (PDPs), search optimization (SEO), bilingual content compliance, ratings & reviews, and in-stock availability.
- Retail Media Optimization: Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of search and sponsored media investments across digital platforms to drive profitable customer acquisition and repeat purchase.
- Price Architecture & Channel Governance: Uphold brand equity and commercial pricing discipline across digital channels, monitoring online price consistency and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure channel harmony across our broader retail footprint.
- Platform Insights & Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of platform feature rollouts, digital commerce trends, and evolving retail operational policies to identify growth drivers and mitigate commercial risks.
- Performance Analytics & Thought Leadership: Establish channel KPIs, reporting cadence, and performance dashboards, acting as the digital commerce subject-matter authority for the Canadian commercial organization.
What are we looking for?
- Proven Ecommerce Account Management: Demonstrated success managing commercial relationships and day-to-day operations with major online retail and digital commerce platforms in Canada (including 1P vendor portals and/or 3P platforms), covering commercial negotiations, catalogue onboarding, and promotional execution.
- Retail Media & Performance Marketing: Proven track record managing retail media investments, search advertising, and performance marketing budgets to maximize ROAS and organic rank.
- Commercial & P&L Ownership: Experience managing channel P&Ls or full commercial trade budgets, with a proven track record of scaling digital business sustainably.
- Hands-on Execution & Agility: Strong analytical mindset and comfortable operating both strategically and tactically in a lean, dynamic environment.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Demonstrated ability to align cross-functional stakeholders (Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, Customer Operations) to deliver operational and fulfillment excellence.
- Bilingualism (English/French): Strong preference for bilingual capabilities to manage English and French catalogue assets, digital content, and Quebec-specific merchandising/regulatory standards.
- Experience in Pet, CPG, or premium/specialty consumer packaged goods.
- Familiarity with Canadian commercial logistics, vendor fulfillment models, Canadian distribution center replenishment, and CAD pricing architecture.
- Experience with online brand protection, minimum advertised price (MAP) compliance, and digital pricing integrity.
