CRA designs and manufactures custom-engineered systems for
the Energy and Defence sectors. We deliver complex projects end-to-end,
entirely in-house, combining design, engineering, and manufacturing under one

Role Overview
You will prepare P&IDs, GA drawings and fabrication
drawings for CRA’s process equipment and packages from the markups of our
process and mechanical engineers. Your drawings go to clients for approval,
into HAZOP reviews and to the fabrication shop, so accuracy and consistency are
the core of the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and revise P&IDs from engineers’ markups, with
correct symbols, equipment and instrument tags, line numbers and piping classes
- Prepare line lists and equipment lists from the P&IDs
- Prepare GA drawings, nozzle orientations and fabrication
drawings for vessels, skids, stacks and structures
- Build 3D models of equipment and skids where required, and
extract drawings from them
- Keep drawings to CRA’s drafting standards for title blocks,
layers, numbering and revisions
- Maintain the drawing register and issue drawings for
approval, construction and as-built
- Incorporate client comments and site markups.
Requirements
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, or ITI Draughtsman
(Mechanical)
- 4 to 8 years drafting P&IDs and mechanical drawings for process
plants or process equipment
- Experience producing P&IDs from scratch, not only modifying existing
drawings
- Expert in AutoCAD, with sound knowledge of ISA 5.1 symbols and P&ID
conventions
- Able to prepare fabrication drawings with weld symbols, tolerances and
BOMs
- Strongly
preferred: 3D modelling in AutoCAD Plant 3D, SolidWorks or Inventor, and
piping isometrics.
