Alfa Laval is currently on a Digital Transformation journey. As part of this journey, we are looking for a senior developer for a team focusing on .NET Core development. You will be a part of a global agile development team working with Scrum within the SAFe framework.
About the job
We are looking for a senior developer for one of our development teams. As a team member you will be delivering solutions across our global business organization. As a team member expected to work effectively within the team and close with all stakeholders, to deliver best support and drive improvements, responsibilities include participating in the entire software development life cycle, debugging applications and configuring existing systems.
This role requires the ability to develop effective working relationships within and beyond the team, to ensure that a consistent, high-quality service is delivered. This is a fast-paced and varied role, requiring excellent communication and customer service skills as well as a broad range of functional knowledge.
The team is delivering an efficient and user-friendly order viewer system, that is a crucial tool for several user groups in the organization. Order information needs to be transferred between different applications, and as an application for both receiving and sending data the tool acts as a central hub for many of these processes.
The team works in close collaboration with our business stake holders to deliver functionalities related to order handling in the factories such as:
- generating documents: drawings, assembly instructions, etc.
- viewing order details when communicating with customers.
- generating sales reports and analytics.
The tool interacts with with M-ERP systems, document databases, CAD drawing applications, and more. The tool is a modern and robust web application, for which there is an ongoing project of rewriting the application on a new generation microservices based cloud architecture.
Main responsibilities
- Leading day to day operations.
- Analyze system requirements and prioritize tasks.
- Write clean, testable code using .NET programming languages.
- Develop technical specifications and architecture.
- Test and debug various .NET applications.
- Review and refactor code.
- Deploy fully functional applications.
- Upgrade existing programs.
- Support junior developers’ work.
- Document development and operational procedures.
- Contributing to the growth of the company through a successful team.
- Contributing to a pleasant and inspiring working environment.

What is needed in this role:
- You have excellent communication skills, and a willingness to take initiative.
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- You are skilled in writing C# applications with .NET Core and have hands on experience with Azure Cloud.
- You should be comfortable with these resources: App Service, Key Vault, Managed Identity, Azure Functions, Storage Accounts and ARM templates.
- You have worked with applications that use build and release pipelines in Azure DevOps. You write unit tests as a routine when you write code, and you are comfortable with Git, as well as having knowledge of software design patterns and principles e.g. SOLID.
- It is meriting if you have worked with XML models and parsing.
- Experience working in SAFe agile development organizations.
