KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of Diagnostics, Life Sciences and Biotechnology market dynamics and growth trajectories across both Chinese and global landscapes.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Danaher’s three core platforms, associated technologies, and developmental pathways, as well as potential areas for technological integration.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive open innovation strategy to identify, evaluate, and secure partnerships with Chinese companies, institutes, and startups excelling in precision hardware, software, AI, data analytics, and digital health solutions.
  • Proactively scout the Chinese innovation ecosystem to source technologies that can enhance our product portfolio's functionality, connectivity, intelligence, and manufacturability.
  • Lead the entire partnership lifecycle: from initial sourcing and technical due diligence to structuring collaboration agreements, joint development plans, and managing strategic alliances.
  • Act as the key liaison between external Chinese innovation partners and our internal global R&D, engineering, and product management teams, ensuring seamless integration of co-developed technologies.
  • Monitor the competitive and technology landscape in China, providing strategic intelligence on emerging trends and disruptive innovations.
  • Establish and nurture deep relationships with leading Chinese KOLs, academic institutions, research hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, biotechs and manufacturing centers of excellence.
  • Lead the activities of Danaher China Innovation Community, facilitating engagement with R&D and business leaders, and providing S&T and innovation training and education.
  • Cultivate new technical and business talents within the market.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D degree in Life Science, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in the Life Sciences/ Pharmaceutical/Diagnostics industries; Expertise with related applications and technologies, patents and other intellectual property.
  • Experience having successfully led meaningful Business Development, R&D or other Innovation functions.
  • Established research track record as evidenced by publications and/or professional accomplishments.
  • Experience in project management, partnership management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to combine and apply scientific/technical and business knowledge, apply lateral thinking skills, and demonstrate strong business acumen with an ability to make balanced decisions.
  • Excellent cross-culture interpersonal, organization, communication and influencing skills, in both Chinese and English.
  • Experience influencing various stakeholders to effect change and achieve results in a dynamic, complex environment.
  • Extensive, active and relevant professional network.
