About the role:
Samsara Technologies India Private Limited’s Connected Operations Cloud provides a unified platform to connect people, systems, and data involved in the world of physical operations. When your cameras, sensors, and workflows are connected, the whole organization operates as one. That means faster, more informed decisions for a secure, scalable, and flexible organization powering critical operations.
Samsara Technologies India Private Limited is seeking an experienced Engineering Director to join our Platform & Infrastructure organization. Our Platform org is responsible for the core capabilities & infrastructure that powers Samsara Technologies India Private Limited’s Connected Operations Cloud. This includes areas such as Reporting, Automations, and Enterprise management capabilities to support our rapidly growing footprint of customers. Our Infrastructure org provides foundational infrastructure capabilities such as container orchestration, data storage, real-time data ingestion, and graphql execution to the rest of Samsara Technologies India Private Limited engineering.
This is an in-office position open to candidates based in Bengaluru, India. This position requires working hours in IST.
In this role, you will:- Drive the vision, roadmap and priorities for Samsara’s Platform teams.
- Ensure high technical standards through both processes and the culture you instill.
- Mentor and grow engineering managers and staff/senior engineers.
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
- Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- 10+ years of industry experience in software engineering/development.
- 7+ years of engineering management experience.
- A track record of building high-performing software teams.
- Willingness to dive-deep and solve challenging technical problems.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Experience managing managers and teams of 40+ engineers.
- A customer-focused mindset and good product sense.
- 5+ years of experience in SaaS software development roles.
- BS in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Experience with best practices around testing, monitoring, and SLAs to ensure high product quality in large-scale distributed web services.
