Position Summary

Split / Harness' Feature Measurement and Experimentation product and engineering teams process and leverage data from over 1 trillion monthly events, empowering product, engineering, and business decisions. By delivering feature flags, data-driven insights, metrics, and tools, our platform helps companies across industries accelerate product delivery safely and effectively. It enables teams to understand the value of their features through a data-driven, scientific approach and iterate quickly to maximize business impact.

As the Leader of the Measurement and Experimentation Engineering Teams, you will play a strategic and impactful role. These teams are responsible for building a platform that ingests and processes large volumes of data while integrating cutting-edge data technologies. From this data, they generate insights that help customers make informed decisions about releasing changes. You’ll collaborate with technical leaders to define a technical strategy, roadmap, and execution plan while contributing to the broader engineering and company strategies.

About the role

  • Lead and support the measurement and experimentation engineering team in product delivery.
  • Recruit, grow, and retain top talent across geographically distributed teams.
  • Focus on optimizing performance and ensuring high availability of production systems.
  • Partner with Product Management to define product strategy and roadmap.
  • Work with teams to define technical strategies, roadmaps, and operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Engineering to drive engineering strategy and contribute to company objectives.
  • Manage team culture, communication, and cohesion.

About you

  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of hands-on experience in the software industry, including the data engineering or analytics space.
    • 5+ years of people management experience, leading multiple teams and managers.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Deep understanding of the processes and architecture of web and cloud services.
    • Solid experience or knowledge of data ingestion, processing, performance, and scalability in large-scale data platforms.
    • Strong technical foundation in coding, scaling, testing, and operating services, with the ability to contribute effectively to technical discussions.
  • Leadership Skills:
    • Passionate about mentoring and helping people grow professionally.
    • Excellent communication skills, able to synthesize and explain complex problems to diverse audiences.
    • Proven track record of successful collaboration with teams, peers, and leadership.
  • Methodology:
    • Proficient in Agile principles with a history of practical application.
