Senior Director – Software Engineering & Technology Strategy

What success looks like in this role:

We are seeking a Technology leader to lead our APAC Technology Organization, driving innovation, modernization, and engineering excellence across a diverse product portfolio. In this role, you will lead large-scale engineering teams, define technology roadmaps, and ensure delivery of secure, scalable, and market-leading solutions.

This leader will manage group of engineers through Senior Managers and Directors, drive innovation across the product lifecycle, and partner with global executives to align technology with business goals.

Principal Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Technology Organization, defining its long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Drive innovation, modernization, and technology excellence across legacy platforms and next-gen cloud-native solutions.
• Oversee multiple product divisions, ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer needs, and industry trends.
• Directly manage and mentor multiple Engineering Directors and Senior Managers, leading a global workforce of 200+ engineers.
• Ensure delivery of secure, scalable, and high-quality products across the full product lifecycle.
• Partner with Product Management, Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership to shape product strategy and client outcomes.
• Lead talent acquisition, competency development, and succession planning to build a sustainable and future-ready workforce.
• Represent the Technology Organization in executive councils, customer engagements, and industry forums.

Critical Skills Required

• Proven technology leadership across systems engineering, modernization, and SaaS/cloud transformation.
• Deep understanding of Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) and enterprise product engineering frameworks.
• Strong track record in budgeting, product costs, and software capitalization management.
• Demonstrated success in building and scaling global engineering organizations.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to work across geographies and influence CxO-level decisions.
• Strong innovation mindset with thought leadership (patents, papers, industry recognition).
• Ability to balance strategic vision with operational excellence.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• Education: Graduate degree in Computer Science / Engineering from a reputed institute (Master’s / MBA preferred).
• Experience: 20+ years in the IT/product engineering industry, with 10+ years in senior leadership (Director or higher).
• Proven experience leading large-scale product engineering organizations (500+ engineers).
• Prior experience in multinational product companies, OEMs, or large-scale engineering majors is desirable.
• Recognized as a thought leader in at least one domain through publications, patents, or conference contributions.
• Proactive, analytical, energetic, with strong team-building and mentoring skills.
