Job Description Summary

Responsible to protect, strengthen, and advance WFG’s reputation across all audiences and channels in partnership with Transamerica Corporate Affairs. This leader builds and oversees a proactive, data-driven reputation strategy that balances risk mitigation with long-term growth.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the reputation management strategy, aligning with corporate mission, brand positioning and long-term business goals​.
  • Develop and manage a three-phase reputation model (cleanup, stabilization, and growth) with clear metrics, milestones and reporting​.
  • Serve as trusted advisor to the WFG executive leadership team on brand risks, reputation, opportunities, and external perception​.
  • Oversee active monitoring of online and offline brand sentiment through media, social listening, and analyst channels.​
  • Lead the development of rapid-response protocols for emerging agent issues, including agent reputational crisis​.
  • Partner with Transamerica’s compliance, legal, corporate affairs, and executive teams to balance transparency, risk exposure and agent and recruit trust.​
  • Drive a proactive push/pull strategy that builds credibility, addresses misinformation, and elevates positive narratives.​
  • Oversee social media, influencer, and support the development and execution of agent PR campaigns that enhance brand visibility and thought leadership​.
  • Ensure messaging is consistent, authentic, and adaptable across audiences (agents, consumers, and carriers.​
  • Partner with field and agent leaders to ensure alignment between corporate reputation strategy and agent communications. ​
  • Guide the development of multicultural marketing approaches to broaden reach and relevance.​
  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to track sentiment, agent media coverage, share of voice, and reputation health​.
  • Report regularly to leadership team on progress, risks, and next-step actions.​
  • Keep current on new technologies and emerging trends/opportunities.
  • Build and lead the reputation management and social media team. Responsible for hiring, training, performance coaching, and provide guidance to team members.
  • Manage agency and/or partner relationships.
  • Manage staff and project resources (allocations and budgets).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Twelve years of digital communications, social media marketing or related experience
  • Eight years of management experience leading and developing teams
  • Strategic thinker and decision-maker to drive results
  • Excellent written/oral communication and relationship building skills
  • Outstanding presentation skills to present to C-suite executives
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency using MS Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the financial services/insurance industry

Working Conditions

  • Office
  • Travel: Moderate 10-25%

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $185,000 - $215,000 annuallyPlease note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law. Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion
