Leads the strategic planning, design, direction and implementation of clinical improvement and quality management programs and initiatives for the system managing hospital quality and patient safety teams across locations. Programs include one or more areas relating to clinical process transformation, quality outcomes measurement and reporting, infection control, accreditation and licensing, patient experience and safety, clinical documentation improvement, quality data abstraction and analytics, and/or medical staff services. Leads efforts to standardize and deploy evidence-based, patient centered clinical practices and processes to achieve full integration with electronic health records and to optimize clinical outcomes. Aligns programs with initiatives and strategic priorities, develops effective mechanisms for monitoring and reporting quantifiable quality measures, and ensures affiliates and programs are in continuous survey readiness.Job Description:

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- Bachelor's: Nursing, Healthcare Quality, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or related field. or equivalent education/experience
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
- CPHQ-Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 15 years of recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Working knowledge of healthcare delivery/clinical care management and healthcare quality standards/measures (e.g., healthcare effectiveness data and information set (HEDIS), leapfrog, hospital consumer assessment of healthcare (HCAHPS), national committee for quality assurance (NCQA), national surgical quality improvement program (NSQIP).
- Working knowledge of performance/process improvement methodologies (e.g., lean/six sigma, pdsa, rapid cycle).
- Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements for healthcare organizations (e.g., The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), California Dept of Public Health (CDPH), Accreditation Assn for Ambulatory HealthCare (AAAHC), Title 22, Department of Health Services (DHS), Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP).
- Familiar with national quality organizations (e.g., Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)) and associated quality recommendations and measurement guidelines.
- Knowledge of current trends and issues impacting the healthcare industry.
- Strategic skills for reviewing processes and strategies to ensure successful alignment with business needs and for identifying improvement opportunities.
- Analytical skills with proven ability to resolve issues/problems by leveraging business and functional knowledge, and client relationships.
- Ability to operate strategically and tactically.
- Demonstrates credible leadership presence, with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority.

Pay Range is $222,227.20 to $355,576.00 / annual salary. Sacramento Valley Pay Range is $195,561.00 to $312,915.00 / annual salary.The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
