You will join the Unified Risk & Quality Platform (URQP) product organization, a strategic enterprise initiative focused on transforming how Optum Health delivers Risk Adjustment, Quality, Affordability, Performance Management, and Value-Based Care operations through a unified platform and operating model.
URQP is designed to consolidate fragmented workflows, improve operational effectiveness, increase transparency, and enable scalable growth across Risk Principal capabilities. The team partners closely with Business, Engineering, Data, Analytics, Clinical, Operations, and Finance stakeholders to deliver enterprise capabilities that drive measurable business outcomes and long-term platform modernization.
The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Director of Product Management (GL31) to lead the product management function for the URQP MVP and associated platform capabilities.
In this role, you will be responsible for translating strategic objectives into product roadmaps, delivery priorities, and measurable business outcomes across multiple product domains and workstreams. You will lead a team of Product Directors, Product Managers, and Product Owners while partnering closely with Engineering, Data Architecture, Program Management, Operations, and executive leadership to ensure successful platform execution.
You will serve as a key leader in establishing the product operating model, governance framework, prioritization processes, and value realization approach required to scale URQP into a strategic enterprise platform supporting Optum Health's long-term transformation objectives.

What You'll Do:
In this role, you will:
  • Lead product strategy, roadmap execution, and delivery oversight for the URQP MVP and future platform expansion
  • Establish and evolve the product operating model, governance processes, prioritization frameworks, and portfolio management disciplines supporting URQP
  • Lead and develop a team of Product Directors, Product Managers, and Product Owners across multiple workstreams and platform capabilities
  • Partner with Business, Engineering, Data, Clinical, Operations, Analytics, and Finance leaders to align product investments with enterprise priorities and business outcomes
  • Drive cross-functional decision-making, dependency management, and prioritization across a complex portfolio of platform initiatives
  • Define success metrics, adoption measures, operational outcomes, and value realization objectives across URQP capabilities
  • Support business case development, investment planning, financial stewardship, and portfolio prioritization activities
  • Communicate product strategy, roadmap progress, delivery risks, and business outcomes to executive stakeholders and governance forums
  • Foster a culture of customer-centric product development, continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence
  • Identify opportunities to leverage data, analytics, automation, and AI capabilities to enhance platform outcomes and user experience

What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven significant experience leading enterprise software, platform, or healthcare technology product organizations
  • Proven experience managing product portfolios, product leaders, and cross-functional teams within highly matrixed environments
  • Proven experience defining product strategy, operating models, governance structures, and value realization frameworks
  • Demonstrated solid business, operational, and financial acumen
  • Proven experience managing complex technology initiatives with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Proven ability to influence executive leaders and drive alignment across business and technology organizations
  • Demonstrated solid communication, leadership, and organizational change management skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Proven experience in healthcare technology, Risk Adjustment, Quality, Value Based Care, healthcare analytics, or related domains
  • Proven experience leading enterprise platform modernization or digital transformation initiatives
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare data, interoperability standards, workflow platforms, and analytics ecosystems
  • Proven experience managing global teams and distributed delivery models
