ROLE SUMMARY
Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) is putting trusted, AI-ready data at the heart of how medicines are made, tested and delivered. PGS & Enterprise Solutions Data Products & Platforms is a newly formed team with a single mission: make our data self-service and accessible, available at the right latency, and contextualized so that its meaning can be interpreted by people and by machines. Spanning Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain, the team owns data strategy and standards, data contextualisation and semantics, data operations, and the converged data platform estate for PGS and Enterprise Solutions - working in deep partnership with PGS business data owners, solution teams and the site network.
The Senior Director, PGS and Enterprise Solutions Data Strategy & Architecture Lead owns the intellectual foundation of AI-ready Data Products & Platforms: the target-state technical data architecture, the canonical data model, and the standards and governance policy to which all data work across PGS and Enterprise Solutions is built. This leader partners closely with business data strategy leaders and business data owners to ensure business data and AI strategies are brought to life in our technical data architecture. Through this partnership, the leader defines what a 'data product' is, writes the governance rulebook, and holds data and integration standards sign-off across a delivery network of solution teams, Creation Centers and domain builders. This is a global role requiring an architect-leader who is credible with engineers and auditors alike, while being relentlessly pragmatic: deploying standards that work, not shelfware.
What You Will Achieve
In this role you will:
  • Partner closely with PGS and ES business data owners and solution teams to define and own the target-state technical data architecture and multi-year roadmap for PGS & Enterprise Solutions.
  • Own the canonical data model and domain ontologies as governed, executable artefacts - built on open standards (ISA-95/ISA-88, the international standards for enterprise-control system integration and batch control) - in partnership with the Data Contextualisation & Semantics function.
  • Lead the definition of data contracts, schema standards and the data product definition in close partnership with business data owners; establish the certification criteria by which data products are accepted as trusted.
  • Hold data & integration standards sign-off across the federated model: including work that is funded by solution programs and executed to this function's oversight and standards.
  • Build, develop and retain a high-performing team of architects and stewards; foster a culture of pragmatic, delivery-oriented architecture.
  • Build and lead Domain Technical Data Stewardship: develop and direct named technical stewards per domain, each paired with the corresponding PGS business data owner.
  • Own data governance policy for a GxP (Good Practice quality regulations) environment, including data integrity by design and readiness for emerging regulatory expectations on AI and data (e.g. EU GMP Annex 22).
  • Chair architecture review of major data initiatives across the portfolio; guide build-vs-conform decisions and prevent parallel or duplicative data builds.
  • Partner with enterprise-central capabilities - Enterprise Data Fabric, Loom, AI Center of Excellence, ERP teams, Cyber & OT (Operational Technology) Security, Identity & Access - to ensure PGS & ES data architecture conforms to and influences enterprise direction.
  • Serve as a senior voice with PGS leadership and the PGS Data, Analytics & AI Transformation organisation on data strategy, standards and stewardship.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management or a related field and 12+ years of experience in data architecture, data management or data engineering, including 7+ years leading teams and setting standards at enterprise scale.
  • Demonstrated ownership of enterprise data architecture, data models, and data standards in a large, federated organization.
  • Applied knowledge of AI technologies, concepts and trends with a deep understanding of what being 'AI-ready' demands of Data Strategy and execution.
  • Track record of partnering with business and solution teams to understand business strategies and translating them into architectural standards and roadmaps.
  • Broad understanding of Digital Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and SAP ERP concepts and data models.
  • Experience establishing data governance in a regulated (GxP or comparable) environment, including data integrity requirements.
  • Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders (VP level and above) across business and technology organizations.
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (MS/MBA/PhD) in a relevant field.
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality or supply chain domain knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of ISA-95/ISA-88, data product / data operating models, and data contract practices.
  • Understanding of SAP ERP data models and data platforms.
  • Recognised architecture or data management credentials (e.g. TOGAF, DAMA CDMP).
  • Experience operating a stewardship or paired business/technical ownership model.
