Iron Mountain is seeking a growth-oriented and experienced Senior Director of Operations to join our Public Sector team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight of key government programs and all current customer accounts in the US Public Sector market. You will ensure service outcomes align with mandates, policy requirements, and our commitment to accountability and service excellence.
As a leader, you will guide a high-performing team of Program Managers to navigate the complexities of public sector service delivery while fostering long-term strategic partnerships.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
Strategic Program Execution: Lead a team of eight Program Managers, with additional headcount to be added this year, to deliver large-scale government initiatives, ensuring all programs meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and statutory requirements.
Cross-Functional De-escalation: Collaborate with Information Technology, Information Security, and Digital Operations teams to start up new customer engagements, remediate customer issues and implement process improvements that prevent recurring operational gaps.
Growth and Pursuit Support: Partner with the proposal and cross functional teams across the company to provide critical programmatic input for large-scale contract bids, ensuring all security and technical requirements are met during the pursuit of new business.
What You’ll Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
15+ years of experience in senior leadership roles focusing on program management or account management within the public sector market.
Strong knowledge of governmental large scale program management, public sector procurement processes, and complex regulatory compliance standards.
Proven ability in executive communication and stakeholder management, with experience navigating "high-touch" customer environments and leading large-scale matrixed teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Program Management (or similar majors/experience) and an active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
