As the functional Oncology forecasting leader and strategic thought partner to Global and U.S. Oncology leadership, Finance, Marketing, New Product Planning, Business Development, and the broader Insights & Analytics organization, you will anticipate opportunities, assess risks, challenge assumptions, and shape decisions that drive portfolio growth and enterprise value. You will lead forecasting across the full product lifecycle and a complex global matrix, advance forecasting capabilities and ways of working, and develop a high-performing organization that delivers insights to support Takeda Oncology’s current and future business objectives.

How you will contribute:

  • Lead forecasting for the Global Oncology portfolio, including inline brands in the U.S. and key international markets, launch assets, lifecycle management opportunities, pipeline assets, and business development evaluations.
  • Set the forecasting approach for annual plans, mid-year commitments, long-range forecasts, portfolio reviews, and strategic scenario analyses in partnership with Global, Regions, Finance, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Lead assessment of portfolio opportunities, risks, lifecycle management initiatives, and business development opportunities through forecast modeling, commercial assessments, and clear articulation of business implications and strategic trade-offs.
  • Lead the forecasting team in setting expectations for U.S. and global brand performance, identifying key drivers of forecast outcomes, and ensuring forecasts are analytically rigorous, transparent, governed, and aligned across cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Translate forecast outputs into enterprise-level recommendations that inform launch readiness, lifecycle strategy, business planning, portfolio prioritization, and investment choices.

Strategic Leadership & Executive Influence

  • Present forecast assumptions, risks, opportunities, and strategic implications to senior and executive leadership, influencing decisions through clear communication of forecast uncertainty, market dynamics, and recommended actions.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to Oncology leadership and brand teams, translating forecast insights into business implications, strategic choices, and actions that support portfolio growth and performance.
  • Partner with global brand leadership, regional leadership, Finance, and country stakeholders to drive business planning cycles and provide thought leadership across forecasting teams and markets.
  • Provide an objective and independent perspective on business performance, commercial assumptions, and portfolio opportunities, constructively challenging thinking and ensuring leadership decisions are grounded in rigorous, transparent analytics.
  • Articulate, defend, and build confidence in forecast assumptions, methodologies, risks, and recommendations across diverse stakeholders, including Executive Leadership, while navigating ambiguity and areas of stakeholder disagreement.

Analytics, Modeling & Forecast Innovation

  • Set the vision for forecasting innovation by continuously evolving methodologies, data assets, tools, governance, and industry best practices, including emerging approaches within and outside the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Lead the integration of key insights, patient journey, epidemiology, patient flow analytics, healthcare claims, market research, competitive intelligence, promotional performance, market access, and other Insights & Analytics capabilities into forecasting approaches.
  • Benchmark internal forecasting capabilities against external practices and evaluate opportunities to improve forecasting quality, efficiency, transparency, and business adoption.
  • Drive rigorous pressure-testing of forecasts using scenario analysis, analogs, diverse data sources, and analytical methods to assess uncertainty, opportunities, and business risks.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify leading indicators, monitor launch performance, and connect performance trends to implications for strategy, investment, and future forecast assumptions.

Forecasting Leadership & Talent Development

  • Coach and develop team members in forecasting methodologies, business acumen, communication, and collaboration while fostering a culture of analytical rigor, constructive challenge, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Influence and align cross-functional stakeholders across a highly matrixed global organization, leading through direct and indirect authority to advance business objectives, forecasting priorities, and enterprise decision quality.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior leaders across Global, Regional, and Country organizations to ensure forecast alignment, effective decision-making, and adoption of common forecasting standards and ways of working.
