POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a professional leadership position responsible for the operational, administrative, and strategic oversight of the Human Resources Department for Directions for Living. The Senior Director of Human Resources provides executive leadership for all human resources functions, including talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee relations, compensation and classification, benefits administration, organizational development, performance management, training and development, policy administration, regulatory compliance, and employee engagement. The Senior Director develops and implements human resources strategies that support the agency's mission, strategic plan, organizational priorities, and long-term workforce needs.
The Senior Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic business partner to executive leadership, providing consultation and guidance on organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, leadership development, change management, employee relations, succession planning, and organizational culture. The Senior Director is accountable for ensuring human resources policies and practices comply with all applicable federal, state, accreditation, and regulatory requirements while promoting a positive workplace culture that supports employee engagement, professional growth, diversity, inclusion, and organizational excellence. The Senior Director oversees Human Resources operations, monitors organizational workforce metrics, develops strategies to improve recruitment and retention, and leads continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness and employee experience. This position reports to the Vice President of Finance and is primarily office-based.
Directions for Living is an essential services provider. All Directions for Living team members must be willing and able to provide vital support and essential services to the people that we serve in the event of an emergency, pandemic or other disaster situation.
QualificationsEDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of ten plus years’ experience as a Human Resource Executive or Senior Director, provided five years of this experience has been in a supervisory role. PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP certification required. Master’s degree preferred. Must have knowledge of Federal, State, Regional, and Local Personnel regulations and EEO/AA/ADA laws and regulations. Must have knowledge of personnel confidentiality rules and regulations.
