Labcorp is seeking a hybrid Senior Director, Global Sourcing – Labcorp Solutions to join our team in Burlington, or Durham, North Carolina.
The Senior Director. Global Sourcing – Labcorp Solutions is a critical leadership role responsible for the overarching management strategy, resilience, and transformation of the global supply chain. This role evolves beyond the management of individual contributors to lead a high-performing organization of global sourcing professionals. Ability to architect and execute a multi-year global sourcing roadmap aligned with enterprise growth, financial targets, and risk tolerances. As a key strategic partner to the executive team, the Senior Director drives enterprise-level innovation, navigates complex geopolitical market dynamics, and ensures the sourcing function serves as a primary competitive advantage for the organization.

Working Conditions:
Hybrid – Full time, regular.
- This hybrid role is central North Carolina-based with three days per week (Wednesday is mandatory) supporting both collaboration and flexibility on-site in Burlington or Durham, NC.
- The remainder of the schedule is remote
- Travel is 10% to other sites and supplier facilities. Laboratory environments, in areas that contain biologic and chemical hazards (with use of personal protective equipment), are occasionally required.
- Oversees a global team of 10 – 12 sourcing professionals.
Job responsibilities:
- Oversee the development of comprehensive Direct category Laboratory strategies, ensuring best in-class market positioning.
- Lead the global negotiation of business-critical, multi-million dollar contracts, focusing on favorable terms, liability protection, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Implement rigorous risk management frameworks to identify and mitigate potential disruptions within the global vendor base.
- Governance for executive-level relationships with "tier one" global partners to drive innovation and priority access to resources.
- Champion the integration of advanced procurement technologies (AI, automation, ERP systems) to streamline the "source-to-pay" process.
- Manage the departmental budget and deliver measurable "bottom-line" impact through realized savings and value add initiatives and Enterprise-level Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and working capital optimizations.
- Ensure all global sourcing activities adhere to ethical standards, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) targets, and international trade regulations.
- Lead cross functional teams to develop and ensure global mindset and overall strategy for the enterprise.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain, or other related field.
- 10-12 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain.
- 3-5 years of leadership experience managing global sourcing organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree (MBA or related advanced degree)
- 5+ years of experience leading large-scale transformation, procurement excellence, operating model, or organizational change initiatives.
- 7+ years of experience working in complex global, multinational, matrixed, or highly regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, life sciences, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, financial services, or manufacturing).
Additional Job Standards
- In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, 14 years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain.
- Ability to communicate strategic guidance to multiple categories.
- Proven leadership and change management expertise in building BIC Global S&P team.
- Ability to connect global market shifts to long-term business health and supply chain stability.
- Expertise in leading large teams through organizational shifts, digital transformations, or M&A integrations.
- Navigating complex internal politics to gain buy-in for high spend initiatives from C-suite executives.
- Mastery of the "Strategic Sourcing Methodology" to manage diverse spend portfolios effectively.
- Deep understanding of international legal frameworks, indemnification, and intellectual property rights in global trade.
- Interpreting global indices, currency fluctuations, and geopolitical events to forecast supply impact.
- Proficiency in TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) modeling, EBITDA impact analysis, and CAPEX/OPEX budgeting.
- Using spend analytics and BI tools to identify "leakage" and untapped savings opportunities.
- Ability to build "what-if" scenarios and business continuity plans for high-risk regions.
- Maintaining composure and securing win-win outcomes during multi-million dollar, multi-party deals.
- Effectively managing relationships and teams across different time zones, languages, and business customs.
