As a Senior Director of Digital Marketing, you will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive digital strategy that strengthens Cleveland Clinic’s brand presence, drives patient and provider engagement, and supports growth across all digital touchpoints. As a key member of the Marketing Leadership Team, you will define strategic goals and priorities for Digital Marketing while overseeing content strategy, website management, social media, SEO and SEM, and marketing technology platforms. This role requires an individual who is first and foremost a content marketing strategist capable of building and scaling high performing content engines, aligning cross functional leaders, applying performance metrics to guide decisions, and thriving in a fast-paced publishing environment. The ideal leader brings strategic depth, technical fluency, executive presence, and the ability to operate with discipline while adapting to emerging digital tools including AI.
This role plays a critical part in advancing the organization’s mission by expanding digital access to trusted and evidence-based health information and connecting patients to care through one of the most sophisticated digital ecosystems in health care. Managing more than a billion annual website sessions, this leader translates performance insights across SEO, social, email, video, and analytics into coordinated action that fuels audience growth, strengthens brand authority, enhances patient acquisition, and supports revenue sustainability. A caregiver in this role works remotely In Ohio Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
This position requires travel to Northeast Ohio approximately three times per year.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Oversee the digital marketing strategy for multiple functions within digital marketing, including but not limited to social media, SEO, Email Marketing, Marketing Technology and Web Development as well as Content Growth.
Lead strategy and manage implementation of technology stack for the website.
Develop and implement strategies to drive online traffic to the company website.
Develop and manage digital marketing campaigns.
Manage the continuous improvement of the company website.
Improve the usability, design, content and conversion of the company website.
Collaborate with Digital Marketing Leadership Team on the planning and budgetary control of all digital marketing.
Evaluate customer research, market conditions and competitor data
Review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital marketing.
Use web analytical tools to assist in making data driven decisions that will improve user satisfaction and drive patient volume.
Work with the appropriate departments/institutes to obtain strategic information and define their digital marketing plan.
Oversee conception, planning and execution of selected Web development/expansion initiatives and serve as key point of contact for division/department.
Function as the liaison between agencies, internal clients for web-based initiatives and web analytics.
Manage Digital team professionals and develop annual key performance indicators for team members.
Mentor and provide growth and learning opportunities for staff.
Educate internal resources on current web-based analytics best practices.
Responsible for defining and reporting OKRs for Digital strategies and tactics.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field
10 years of experience in digital marketing with five years in a senior leadership role, ideally within healthcare
Deep understanding of digital ecosystems including content strategy, UX, social media, SEO/SEM, and martech stacks
Proven experience managing digital transformation, CMS migrations, or multi-site web environments
Strong analytical mindset with experience in web analytics, KPIs, and marketing automation
Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
Strong Organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to develop creative solutions
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Master’s degree
Ability to architect and lead a sophisticated content ecosystem
Exceptional content marketing and digital audience growth expertise with a deep expertise in modern audience growth
Understanding how SEO, social media, email, video, and on-site content function as an integrated ecosystem to drive sustained traffic and measurable business outcomes
Familiarity with publishing and digital monetization models
Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to sit and be stationary for prolonged periods of time, normal or corrected vision and manual dexterity sufficient to perform work on a personal computer.
Requires the ability to walk to various locations throughout the Foundation and to function in a stressful environment.
