POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Executive Director Enterprise Financial Analysis, the Senior Director of Decision Support sets the enterprise strategy and governance for financial decision support, cost accounting, and service line profitability across Boston Medical Center Health System (BMCHS). Under limited supervision, this job owns the systemwide decision support and cost accounting infrastructure, sets the standards and methodologies used by all entities for business case development and capital investment evaluation, and serves as a primary advisor to the CFO on financial strategy and service line performance. The Senior Director exercises direct supervision over a multidisciplinary team of directors and senior managers, and is accountable for the integrity, consistency, and strategic application of financial and operational data across the system to ensure data-driven, disciplined decision-making aligned with long-term strategic and clinical priorities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
- Sets the enterprise strategy and governance framework for decision support, cost accounting, and service line profitability analytics across BMCHS, establishing the standardized methodologies, definitions, and data sources used consistently across all sites and affiliates.
- Serves as the primary strategic advisor to the CFO and senior executive leadership on financial decision support, service line performance, and capital investment prioritization, presenting recommendations directly to Executive Leadership.
- Directs the Finance Director of Service Line Optimization and other decision support leaders, setting enterprise direction for service line growth strategy, market intelligence, and competitive analysis, and reviewing major business cases and regulatory submissions before executive presentation.
- Owns the systemwide decision support and cost accounting platform, directing its governance, data integrity, configuration, and integration with clinical, operational, and financial data sources to ensure accurate service line profitability and provider proforma data systemwide.
- Establishes the enterprise framework for capital investment evaluation and ROI/proforma modeling, setting the standards all service lines and entities must follow for major capital, program, and partnership decisions, and approving methodology before submission to executive leadership.
- Directs the development of enterprise reporting and analytics infrastructure, including integrated executive dashboards that combine clinical, operational, and financial metrics, serving as executive sponsor for data governance to ensure transparency, standardization, and accuracy across all reporting functions.
- Leads enterprise accountability and performance management frameworks, ensuring new and existing service line, program, and capital initiatives are tracked against approved business cases and financial targets across all BMCHS entities.
- Builds and leads a high-performing decision support and service line finance organization, hiring, developing, and mentoring directors and senior managers, and establishing career pathways and succession plans across the function.
- Cultivates executive, clinical, and operational partnerships across BMCHS entities, representing Finance in system-level strategic planning, affiliation and partnership evaluation, and major service line investment decisions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- MBA, MHA, or MPH and a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible healthcare finance, decision support, or service line analytics experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing decision support, cost accounting, or financial planning functions; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with Strata or similar decision support/cost accounting platforms; experience in an academic medical center or safety-net health system

Compensation Range:
$153,000.00- $222,000.00This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
