Role Summary:

The Senior Director of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis will play an important leadership role for Cinemark, providing significant financial planning and analysis support to the VP of FP&A, CFO and CEO, as well as Cinemark’s senior management team. This role oversees all aspects of Corporate financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for the company. Additionally, supporting M&A transaction analysis and Business Development activities.
The ideal candidate for this position will have seasoned FP&A acumen, clear communication skills, an ability to positively collaborate and influence across varied functions and cultures, and experience operating in a multinational matrixed company.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Global HQ consolidation and Global P&L, CAPEX, and cash flow forecasting cycles (budgets, long-range forecasts, and incentive planning)
  • Support management decision making through proactive financial analysis and independent thought leadership
  • Lead preparation of financial reports and presentations for management and materials for Board of Directors meetings and Board Committee meetings
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive achievement of Global G&A and Operating KPI budgets
  • Provide ongoing regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis of historic performance, including financial results and trends, productivity metrics, industry trends, capital expenditures, and key operating metrics
  • Assist Treasury with company-wide cash management by providing short/long-term global financial forecasts and insights
  • Support M&A and business development initiatives
  • Evaluate existing reporting and data management routines and make recommendations on simplification and enhancement opportunities; lead ongoing process improvement agenda that boosts team productivity
  • Provide strategic vision and development of FP&A Financial Systems and tools (including Ad Hoc Analysis tools, Budgeting, and Forecasting tools, ERP, & BI)
  • Collaborate with Cinemark’s Operational FP&A Team to drive financial results, and support Operational FP&A with systems, data management, reports, and tools
  • Lead, develop and motivate direct reports

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial experience
  • Experience in strategic planning, operational modelling, technical knowledge of financial statements, driver-based modelling, and reporting techniques.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field from an accredited and recognized institution of higher learning is required with an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred
  • Experience in capital market analysis
  • Proven analytical skills with a hands-on and detail-oriented nature; able to accomplish deep-dive analytics both individually and in collaboration with the FP&A team
  • Solid leadership skills with an ability to lead, influence, develop and motivate a team
  • Ability to link analytics into broader business themes
  • Curious, independent and proactive thinker with demonstrated record of approaching management with original and creative views on how to improve the business using data driven analysis
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Clear verbal/written communication and presentation skills with an ability to influence and build positive interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to cope in a fast, dynamic environment and manage a wide range of tasks simultaneously
  • Track record of leading simplification and process improvement projects
  • High degree of personal and professional integrity
  • Multi-outlet brick & mortar retail and/or entertainment industry experience a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of and experience with modern financial planning databases (PowerBI, Workday ERP, Essbase, etc.)
