We're on a mission to improve the world of work, one shift at a time for 80% of the world’s workforce
The Role
Lead brand strategy and digital experience, overseeing marketing functions and collaborating cross-departmentally to enhance brand presence and drive business growth.
Summary Generated by Built In
Deputy is a global SaaS remote-first workforce management company with hubs in Sydney, Melbourne, San Francisco and London, plus team members working remotely across the United States. Our platform serves over 1.5 million workers and 375,000 workplaces across 100+ countries. We are backed by top global investors and recently achieved Unicorn status.

At Deputy, we’re improving the world of work, one shift at a time, for 80% of the world’s workforce: hourly workers. These are the dedicated employees who keep our world running – from baristas to nurses, cleaners to delivery drivers, florists to factory workers. Despite their vital role in society, most workplace technology has focused on those workers who sit behind a desk, but at Deputy, we transform the frontline. When businesses use Deputy, their workplaces thrive – the business is more profitable, compliant, and productive, while the workers are more engaged and happier at work.

If you’re passionate about creating solutions that put people first and helping businesses and their teams thrive, join us at Deputy and make an impact where it matters most!

The Role

We’re looking for a Brand & Creative Director to build and scale the creative heartbeat of Deputy from the ground up.
In this role, you’ll unify brand, design, content, and storytelling into one high-performing function that fuels demand across every channel and campaign. You’ll ensure that every ad, landing page, sales deck, event, social post, and product launch connects emotionally, stands out visually, and ladders up to business impact.

You will be the creative engine behind brand decisions and it will be your job to make sure Deputy looks, sounds, and feels world-class, while helping drive SQLs, pipeline, and revenue. You will shape the entire creative strategy for a tech unicorn. While it will be your job to help the company maintain brand clarity, this is not just a brand role; it’s a creative growth role.

Why This Role Matters

In the new Deputy marketing structure, the Brand & Creative Director is the heart of everything we will publicly do for Deputy. Both as a brand that becomes beloved by customers and also creating demand for others to know about us. By ensuring that every creative asset connects emotionally and converts effectively, this role multiplies the impact of campaigns, channels, and programs.

If you’re ready to shape the future of work with a brand that matters, while proving that great creative teams drive growth, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities

  • Brand & Identity
  • Define and evolve Deputy’s global brand strategy, positioning, and visual identity.
  • Ensure consistency across all touchpoints — customer, employee, partner, investor, and community.
  • Champion Deputy’s mission to elevate shift workers through authentic, human storytelling.

  • Creative Leadership
  • Lead and inspire an in-house creative team plus external agency partners.
  • Deliver breakthrough creative concepts and assets across digital, web, social, events, campaigns, and internal communications.
  • Ensure creative is both strategic and effective: emotionally resonant and performance-driven.
  • Build scalable processes for briefs, reviews, and approvals that allow speed without sacrificing quality.

  • Content & Storytelling
  • Oversee the development of narratives that fuel product launches, integrated campaigns, and thought leadership.
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Campaigns, and Demand Gen to align content with ICP personas and buyer journeys.
  • Amplify customer stories, company milestones, and cultural moments to deepen connection with our audience.
  • Set editorial standards, tone of voice, and storytelling guidelines.
  • Maintain a consistent global voice while supporting regional adaptation.

  • Web & Digital Experience
  • Partner with the Head of Channel Marketing, Head of Field Marketing and Head of Product Marketing in making all organic channels a growth engine for Deputy.
  • Partner with Channel Marketing, RevOps, and Demand Gen to optimize design, messaging, UX, UI and SEO for the website specifically
  • Partner with channel managers from a creative perspective to ensure every digital experience — from homepage to microsite to ad landing page — is conversion-focused and brand-aligned.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 10+ years in brand, creative, or content marketing, ideally with experience in B2B SaaS.
  • A proven track record of building brands and delivering creative that drives both awareness and measurable growth.
  • Strong design and creative judgment; able to shape ideas from concept to execution.
  • Experience leading cross-disciplinary teams (design, content, copy, web) and managing agencies/freelancers.
  • Ability to connect creative work to demand outcomes (pipeline, SQLs, revenue).
  • Experience with digital-first creative: ads, social, video, landing pages, web optimization.
  • Clear communicator who can influence executives, partner cross-functionally, and bring teams along.
  • A mix of strategist and doer — equally comfortable setting brand direction and giving hands-on feedback.
  • Passion for building brands that stand for something meaningful.
