About the Team
The College Board’s Advanced Placement and Instruction division (300+ staff) develops and administers coursework taken by more than 3 million students worldwide each school year, and the related subject-matter exams utilized by more than 4,000 colleges and universities for course placement and awarding of college credit. These include credit and placement examination programs like CLEP and ACCUplacer; Advanced Placement (AP) and Pre-AP courses in 40+ disciplines; and associated teacher professional learning programs.
The AP Test Publishing team manages the production of print materials for AP exams worldwide. About the Opportunity
The Senior Director, AP Test Publishing will collaborate with key organizational workstreams on the build and execution of requirements and processes for the evolving print exam needs of the AP program. This will require defining the development needs and requirements to build print exams in alignment with the current AP course and exam change roadmap. This role oversees content change alignment, planning, and execution for exam publishing and print needs with external vendors, maintaining and communicating detailed documentation and reporting across various interdependent workstreams led by a number of internal and external teams.
In this role, you will:

- Own senior-level external alignment and vendor governance with print and production vendors, including SLA and performance oversight, contract-level escalation, and quality-control accountability, as the sustained operating relationship supporting insourced production.
- Maintain and communicate detailed documentation and reporting across interdependent internal and external workstreams, ensuring transparency into progress, dependencies, and risk.
CHANGE MANAGEMENT & INSOURCING ADOPTION (25%)
- Lead change management for AP Test Publishing as the program insources assessment production from external test developers, building the communication, coordination, and adoption plans that move new publishing workflows, roles, and requirements into steady-state practice.
- Establish and reinforce clear roles, decision rights, and handoffs across internal teams and vendors, sponsoring training and stakeholder alignment to sustain adoption across all subject types.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT, INNOVATION, & TEAM ENABLEMENT (15%)
- Expand responsible use of generative AI to improve Test Publishing quality and efficiency, such as AI-assisted quality control and analysis of prior-cycle feedback to strengthen first-pass vendor output.
- Lead structured, data-informed process improvement, drawing on project tracking, stakeholder feedback, and issue logs, to refine publishing workflows across administrations.
