More about our mission and what we offer.
Job DescriptionWe’re looking for a Senior Director of Analytics to lead the Money Movement Chapter—the primary engine behind Wise’s mission to replace legacy banks for international people and businesses while ensuring the best cross border transfer experience.
Our goal is bold: Make Wise the last account you’ll ever need to open. We have moved beyond simple transfers to build a world-class banking alternative. By integrating our foundational Send business with a comprehensive Account ecosystem, we ensure that whether our customers are Sending, Spending, Receiving, or Growing their money, Wise is their primary everyday platform.
In this high-leverage leadership position, you will oversee a scaled organisation of 25 analysts and 4 managers. This role sits at the critical intersection of product innovation and our global financial engine.
As a trusted partner to senior leadership, you will combine market context with deep data insights to drive major strategic pivots, ensuring Analytics remains a central pillar of our product strategy during a period of cross-functional leadership transformation.
The Money Movement Chapter
You will lead the data strategy across two massive, integrated portfolios:
The Send Business
Optimising the core engine that moved £84bn in just six months. You will drive Mission Zero by identifying efficiencies in liquidity and routing to lower fees, making sending £500k as natural as sending £5. This includes:
Send Convenience & Core: Making global movement as smart as a personal assistant.
High Volume & Business Send: Removing friction for our largest and most complex customer segments.
The Account Ecosystem
Building the "Primary Account" infrastructure that replaces a customer's local bank. You'll lead analytics across five top-level teams:
Discovery & Retention: Ensuring a seamless journey from the first experience of value to long-term loyalty.
Management (Current Account): Driving the everyday banking experience, account structures, and MAO (Monthly Active Users).
Sharing (Shared Accounts): Revolutionising cross-border money movement through Joint, Child, and Group accounts.
Insights (Spend, Save, Grow): Empowering customers with data to help them organise, hedge, and earn a return on their money through Interest, Stocks, and ETFs.
Receive: Scaling the infrastructure that allows customers to "Receive like a local from anywhere."
This is an AL4 level role.
QualificationsWHAT YOU'LL DO
Partner with Product and senior leadership across Send, Spend, Receive and Grow to define product and growth strategy — synthesising signals across pillars to surface the highest-impact opportunities and build a coherent analytical narrative for Core.
Lead, coach and develop a high-performing, distributed analytics team, fostering a culture of curiosity, ownership and measurable impact.
Collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners (Product, Engineering, Design, Research) to align on strategy and drive consistent execution across the Core portfolio.
Own the OKR and KPI framework for Core — ensuring each pillar has clear, distinctive metrics while maintaining a unified view of progress; communicate that story compellingly, from Slack updates to exec-level planning reviews.
Identify structural blockers and delivery risks across teams, and put in place the people, processes and tooling needed to accelerate progress.
Champion the build of scalable, automated data pipelines and BI infrastructure that reduce repetitive analytical work and unlock self-serve access to data across Core.
Lead and coordinate cross-pillar analytics initiatives that require a joined-up view — translating complex, multi-domain insights into clear strategic direction.
Serve as a senior voice for Analytics at Wise — contributing to how the function is built, scaled and positioned as a driver of business outcomes.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Technical Skills: A proven technical background in analytics, with the ability to engage deeply with data when it matters. Experience leading teams that deliver high-quality data products, automated pipelines and self-serve tooling — with a working knowledge of modern analytics stacks (e.g. SQL, dbt, Airflow, Looker) sufficient to guide technical direction and make sound architectural decisions.
Team Leadership: 4+ years of experience leading and developing analytics teams. Skilled at performance management, providing constructive feedback, and building team capability and culture at scale.
Strategic Ownership: Proven experience developing and implementing strategy across a broad business area. You operate independently in a fast-paced environment — identifying impactful opportunities, triaging by impact, and knowing when to go 80/20.
Influence & Stakeholder Management: Strong collaborative instincts — you know how to influence senior stakeholders, when to push back, and how to drive alignment across complex cross-functional teams. You have a bias to action.
- Scale & Ambition: Comfortable operating at Director level — thinking across a portfolio of teams and problems, connecting the dots between ground-level analysis and company-level strategy.
For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.
We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.
Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
