Senior Dimensional Engineer

The Dimensional Engineering team is looking for a dynamic, analytical, and innovative person with experience in product design and dimensional engineering who enjoys being challenged and is driven to deliver creative solutions. As a dimensional engineer, you will use your extensive knowledge and experience to define and lead in the execution of complete vehicle design for manufacture and assembly across the engineering disciplines. The Dimensional Engineering team secures the delivery of the correct concept maturity at the applicable milestones, ensuring product targets are best practiced, balanced, and executed.

In this role, you will:

• Lead 2D engineering drawing checking for complex designs.
• Continuously improve GD&T processes, procedures, and data sheets for a variety of parts with different materials and manufacturing methods.
• Lead failure analysis and root-cause investigations of defective materials, utilizing your expertise in ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Train and mentor in ASME Y14.5 GD&T 
• Work closely with design engineers to review and propose GD&T symbols, making recommendations for measurability and manufacturability improvements.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience in dimensional/quality engineering
• Knowledge of CMM/Faro Arm, Leica programming using PC-DMIS/Polyworks 
• Experience in GD&T, tolerance analysis, and stacks.
• Experience with ASME Y14.5 standard (2009/2018).
• Experience using various metrology equipment, including CMM, OMM, Faro Arm, Leica, caliper, pin gauge, etc.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience in product design, ASME and ISO GD&T, Fixture, and Metrology
• Experience working with suppliers to improve manufacturing and measurement processes.

Compensation

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $155,000 to $255,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
