Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Senior BIM (Digital Design ) professional to lead strategy, implementation, and governance across complex projects. This role develops BIM strategies and BIM Execution Plans aligned to client requirements, leads BIM kickoff meetings with internal teams and consultants, and coordinates BIM delivery with project leadership and technical teams. This position will be located in our Denver, CO office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
BIM Strategy, Implementation & Management
Develop and implement BIM strategies for complex projects.
Create, manage, and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and related project documentation. Be able to review client requirements and align BIM Execution Plans to meet those requirements.
Lead BIM kickoff meetings internally and with consultants for all phases.
Establish and administer the project Common Data Environment (CDE), such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or ProjectWise, including permissions, metadata standards, information container structures, and archival processes.
Coordinate BIM execution with project leadership, technical teams.
Develop and maintain firmwide BIM standards, templates, digital workflows, and governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with ISO 19650 and organizational objectives.
Ensure BIM compliance with contractual requirements and information delivery milestones, including risk identification and mitigation in digital deliverables.
2. Project Delivery & Coordination
Set up project models, ensuring correct base point, survey point, and model coordination standards.
Manage multidisciplinary model coordination, clash detection, and issue tracking (Navisworks, Revizto, ACC Model Coordination).
Ensure consistent adherence to BIM standards through regular model reviews, audits, and compliance checks.
Integrate BIM processes with 4D (schedule) and 5D (cost) workflows, supporting planning and estimating teams.
Prepare and deliver BIM progress reports, KPIs, compliance metrics, and digital delivery dashboards for internal leadership.
3. Technical Expertise & Support
Provide technical production support on 3D and 2D deliverables, smart object content creation, and template development.
Establish and maintain data-integrated workflows and assist with development of any project related content needed to deliver a project or support advanced modeling
Assist in resolving BIM design issues and provide hands-on support to teams throughout all phases.
Support asset information management (AIM) to enable digital handover for facilities management and digital twin environments.
4. Digital Technology, Standards & Quality
Oversee digital technology implementation for collaboration and project delivery.
Deploy and manage AECOM’s content management systems (Autodesk Content Catalogue/UNIFI).
Administer digital quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with ISO 19650 information standards.
Automate workflows using Dynamo or Grasshopper.
Lead BIM model audits, data integrity checks, validation routines, and governance reviews across the project lifecycle.
Manage digital risks, including information security, model integrity, and data-loss mitigation.
5. Training, Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing
Mentor project teams and junior BIM personnel.
Capture lessons learned and refine workflows across projects.
Share best practices, standards, tools, and techniques with other BIM Leads and the BIM Leadership Team.
Support internal and external BIM maturity development
Minimum Requirements
Batchelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Information Management or equivalent with +6 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of BIM and digital delivery experience, including formal BIM Manager experience for complex new-builds and major renovations; large-scale project experience is a plus.
Experience supervising BIM teams with Strong leadership and communication abilities.
Strong knowledge of ISO 19650 and related BIM standards.
Detail-oriented, thorough, well-organized; excellent time management.
Proven experience delivering BIM for large, multidisciplinary projects with global, dispersed teams.
Advanced skills in: Revit, Civil 3D, Plant 3D,Navisworks, Revizto, ACC Model Coordination
Dynamo or Grasshopper
Demonstrable portfolio of BIM delivery.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience managing BIM software suites, and IT coordination.
Interest or experience in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the A/E service model.
