Position title: Senior Digital Content Producer
Location/Work arrangement: SWHD Main Office in Phoenix, AZ
Schedule: Full Time – 40 hours per week
The Senior Digital Content Producer is a hands-on creative and project leader responsible for producing, managing, and optimizing digital content that elevates Southwest Human Development’s voice, impact, and visibility. This role blends content creation, storytelling, project management, and channel management, requiring someone who can move seamlessly from concept to execution.
This position plays a critical role in translating the work of SWHD programs into compelling, human-first content across social media, email, and digital platforms. The ideal candidate is both strategic and highly practical: comfortable creating their own photos, videos, graphics, and written content while also managing timelines, stakeholders, and performance outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Create original, platform-appropriate content for social media, including written posts, graphics, photography, and short-form video, from concept through execution.
- Produce authentic, accessible visual content using available tools, including smartphones, with a focus on storytelling over high-end production.
- Write and edit short- and long-form content such as social captions, blog posts, feature stories, and marketing copy aligned with organizational voice.
- Manage day-to-day social media operations, including planning, scheduling, publishing, and moderating content with a high degree of independence.
- Monitor social media performance and audience engagement, using insights and trends to refine content strategy and improve results.
- Update, publish, and maintain website content using a CMS, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with organizational messaging.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate program updates and campaigns into clear, engaging digital content across web and marketing channels.
- Develop and execute email marketing campaigns, including content creation, layout, scheduling, and basic performance analysis.
- Design on-brand graphics and layouts for digital, email, and print materials using Adobe Creative Suite or comparable tools.
- Capture and develop compelling stories through interviews and collaboration with program staff, translating complex work into human-centered narratives that demonstrate impact.
- Lead communications projects from planning through completion, managing timelines, priorities, and deliverables while identifying opportunities to improve future efforts.
What you’ll bring
- Experience creating engaging digital content across social media, websites, email, and other online platforms.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to create content that is clear, compelling, and audience-centered.
- Experience producing original content such as graphics, photos, videos, and written pieces.
- Comfort managing content calendars, publishing across channels, and balancing multiple projects at once.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, build strong relationships, and turn ideas into polished final products.
- Experience using tools such as content management systems, email marketing platforms, analytics tools, or design software.
- Confidence using performance data and engagement insights to improve future content and campaigns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Possess an insured and reliable vehicle and a valid Arizona driver’s license.
- Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card, or ability to qualify for a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
