Job Summary

MUFG is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to help define, build, and champion end‑to‑end DevSecOps capabilities across our technology ecosystem. In this role, you will be a technical leader driving the modernization of CI/CD pipelines, cloud‑native delivery, and security‑first automation across both on‑premises and cloud environments.

You will work closely with engineering, security, and operations teams to embed security into every phase of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) while improving reliability, scalability, and deployment velocity. This is an exciting opportunity to influence architecture and standards while working with modern cloud, container, and automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership & Collaboration
  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor to DevOps and platform engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with application development, security, infrastructure, and operations teams to align DevSecOps practices with business and regulatory requirements.
  • CI/CD & Platform Modernization
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines supporting cloud‑native, containerized, and VM‑based workloads.
  • Build and manage infrastructure as code solutions using Terraform and Ansible across AWS, Azure, and OpenShift environments.
  • Advanced Deployment Strategies
  • Design and implement advanced deployment patterns, including blue‑green, canary releases, feature flags, and automated rollback strategies to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
  • Security & Compliance Integration
  • Embed security controls and best practices throughout the SDLC, including secure build pipelines, dependency scanning, vulnerability management, and compliance automation.
  • Advocate for a “shift‑left” security mindset across engineering teams.
  • Automation & Orchestration
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, testing, and application deployments to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Continuously optimize pipelines and workflows to reduce manual effort and time to delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current with emerging DevSecOps tools, cloud services, and industry best practices.
  • Proactively recommend and drive improvements to tooling, processes, and standards.

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps or platform engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
  • 4+ years of hands‑on software development experience using Java, Python, Node.js, or .NET.
  • 3+ years of experience implementing DevSecOps security tooling, such as SCA, SAST, DAST, SBOM generation, and secrets management.
  • 3+ years of experience deploying and supporting containerized applications on Kubernetes (OpenShift experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong hands‑on experience with AWS and Azure, including cloud‑native architectures.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform; configuration management with Ansible.
  • Deep understanding of DevSecOps principles, including secure coding practices, vulnerability management, and compliance automation.
  • Experience implementing advanced deployment techniques (blue‑green, canary, feature toggles, automated rollbacks).
  • Strong automation and scripting skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar.
  • Experience working in Agile environments; familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and quality.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence without formal authority.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience equally preferable.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) is a plus.
