Job Summary:
This role works directly with the DevOps Manager for element14 Community, the #1 global community website for electrical engineers. The site is fully hosted in Azure and makes use of Azure DevOps, SQL Server, Logic Apps, Function Apps, Terraform, and Data Factory. They’ll be responsible for providing application support, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of all our environments. Ensures site stability, performance, and uptime, which drive key metrics including visits, registrations, participation, referrals and sales. Supports the technical aspects of code deployment across multiple environments throughout the development
Principal Responsibilities:
- Manage all technical and operational aspects of Community production and pre-production environments at an application/configuration level.
- Manage and maintain all code build and deployment activities and processes across all environments, including scheduling and securing resources, creating, and maintaining release notes and documentation, and serving as release manager for deployments - troubleshooting issues and initiating roll-back procedures when necessary.
- Coordinate global IS teams, development, and vendor support to troubleshoot and provide timely resolution of application, performance, and system incidents, in all environments.
- Coordinate post-outage root cause analysis and recommend changes for continuous improvement in site reliability and stability.
- Gather and monitor metrics from multiple sources (application performance monitoring, file systems, application logs, etc.) for production stability assessment.
- Manage all technical aspects of analytics and reporting capabilities, as well as provide ad-hoc and automated reports as necessary.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders across the organization to manage expectations and accountabilities.
- Provide and maintain all application support, environment, and technical documentation.
Job Level Specifications:Essential
- Strong experience supporting high-availability websites.
- Proficiency with UNIX/LINUX operating systems
- Experience administering windows servers and VMs
- Significant experience with databases – MS SQL preferred
- Expert scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, etc)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with infrastructure based in the cloud (Azure, AWS)
- Demonstrable history of learning new technology
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Desirable
- Experience working with community platforms (Jive, Verint, Khoros)
- Experience working within Agile development methodologies
- Experience with edge caching (Akamai)
- Experience with server monitoring tools (Dynatrace)
- Experience with Terraform (or similar)
- Experience with PowerShell/Bash scripting
- Experience with Azure
- Experience with analytics tools (Omniture)
- Ability to work with distributed teams
Work Experience:
- Typically 5+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.
Education and Certification(s):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
