Overview/Summary
Reporting to the DevOps Manager, the DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation and operation of all hosted environments and infrastructure within Quantios. As part of a broader program of investment in our software products and services we are building a DevOps competency and this role will define our DevOps processes, tooling and environments.
Initially focussed on providing managed service offerings for internal customers (for example, hosting demo environments for the sales team and CICD infrastructure for the development team), the role will expand to provide the technical launch of our Quantios Online SaaS offering, based on the Business Central Online platform.
Job Description:
- Design, implementation and operation of cloud environments (Azure and AWS) for hosting Quantios products for internal use and for customer sandbox environments (non-production)
- Similar for CICD environments for Quantios development teams
- Design and architect Kubernetes clusters for scalability, resilience, and security
- Administer Kubernetes clusters, including deployment, scaling, and management of cluster resources
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies for Kubernetes clusters.
- Play a pivotal role in the launch and ongoing delivery of our brand-new SaaS offering, through close collaboration with Quantios strategy & innovation, development and product management teams
- Collaboration with Quantios development teams to establish, implement and monitor working practices necessary for effective continuous delivery
- Collaboration with the IT team to ensure all automation and monitoring aligns with current best practice procedures and tooling
- Creation of appropriate health monitoring and alerting for managed services – observability tool
- Secure system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining, monitoring access, server hardening.
- Development of automation for infrastructure provisioning
- Development of ITIL practices for hosted services together with active engagement in an ISMS program
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in a DevOps environment delivering SaaS offerings
- Additional 3+ years’ experience as a software developer on agile software projects
- Experience with commercial software, ideally in a secure environment or highly-regulated business domain
- Containerization and Orchestration: Advanced experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including cluster architecture, administration, and security.
- Familiarity with n-tier architecture concepts including RESTful API services CI/CD Pipeline Management:
- Expertise in configuring and optimizing tools such as ADO Pipelines or GitHub Actions.
- Demonstrated strong interest in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Cloud Platforms:
- Strong knowledge of Azure and AWS for managing cloud-based infrastructure.
- Monitoring and Logging: Familiarity with tools like Datadog for system observability.
- Security Practices: Understanding of security best practices, including Kubernetes RBAC, network policies, and compliance standards.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and root cause analysis in complex systems.
- Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and document processes clearly.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks
- Hands on experience in the operational delivery of commercial SaaS offerings Experience of ISO27001, including associated management systems
- Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications will be considered an added advantage
