What we are looking for:
We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and drive infrastructure automation, security, and reliability initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our cloud-native infrastructure while ensuring the highest standards of security, scalability, and operational excellence.
Position Overview
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our Azure-based infrastructure, implementing security best practices, and ensuring smooth operations of our SaaS platform. You will work closely with development teams to streamline deployment processes and improve system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure and Cloud Operations
Design, maintain, and improve Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles with Terraform and Terragrunt
Manage and optimize AKS clusters, including Istio service mesh implementation for enhanced service-to-service communication and security
Implement and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure solutions that support our growing SaaS platform
Oversee Azure resource management, including networking, Key Vault, Blob Storage, and Azure Cosmos DB
Configure and maintain OpenSearch clusters for logging and search capabilities
Optimize CosmosDB performance, scaling, and cost management
DevOps Practices and Automation
Lead and enhance CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, ensuring efficient and reliable deployment processes
Implement and maintain GitOps workflows using ArgoCD for automated deployments
Develop and maintain automation scripts (primarily in Bash) to improve operational efficiency
Drive continuous improvement in deployment processes and developer workflows
Security and Compliance
Implement and maintain Zero Trust security architecture using Azure PIM and RBAC
Enforce security best practices and least privilege principles across the infrastructure
Manage Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) and network security configurations in Azure
Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices
Monitoring and Reliability
Design and implement comprehensive observability solutions using OpenTelemetry, Azure Log Analytics Workspace, and Application Insights
Participate in on-call rotation to provide production support and incident response
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures
Maintain and improve system reliability metrics and SLAs
Required Qualifications
5+ years of DevOps/SRE experience in SaaS or cloud-native environments
Strong programming skills in Python or Go for automation and tooling development
Proven expertise in Azure cloud infrastructure and services
Strong experience with:
Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure management
Kubernetes (AKS) and Helm in production environments
Istio Service Mesh and Istio Ingress Gateways
ArgoCD and GitOps methodologies
CI/CD pipeline development in Azure DevOps
Demonstrated experience implementing Zero Trust security, PIM, and RBAC
Practical knowledge of observability tools including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor
Proficiency in scripting and automation, particularly with Bash
Track record of production support and on-call rotation participation
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments
Experience with WAFs and network security in Azure

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures
Knowledge of distributed systems and microservice architecture
Advanced knowledge of OpenSearch and Elasticsearch
Experience with CosmosDB performance tuning and data modeling
Familiarity with Azure API Management and Logic Apps
Experience with large-scale SaaS platforms
