INTRO TO POSITION
As a DevOps Engineer, you are primarily responsible for managing, monitoring and automating operations of a high-availability, high-scalability server infrastructure, performing in-depth performance tuning, as well as hardware troubleshooting and maintenance when necessary.
This is a union represented role covered under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement with NABET-CWA DMU.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a DevOps Engineer, you are primarily responsible for managing, monitoring, and automating operations of a high-availability, high-scalability server and cloud-based infrastructure, performing in-depth performance tuning, as well as hardware troubleshooting and regular maintenance of existing systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have 3 to 5 years relevant work experience.
- Experience with Linux system administration in a virtualized environment (preferably with Debian or Ubuntu).
- Experience with a scripting language such as Bash or Python.
- Experience with administering Apache and/or Nginx based web-servers.
- Experience with database administration and troubleshooting using SQL databases such as Mysql and DynamoDB.
- Experience with TCP/IP networking technologies such as Cisco, F5, routing and switching.
- Experience with content delivery networks such as Akamai and CloudFront.
- Experience with core AWS services such as EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Route53 and ELB.
- Experience with serverless technologies such as Lambda and Fargate.
- Experience with containers and orchestrators such as Docker, Kubernetes, ECS and EKS.
- Experience with CI/CD solutions including Codefresh, CircleCI, Terraform, Jenkins and Helm.
- Experience using Datadog for system and application performance monitoring and centralized logging.
- Solid track record of deploying highly scalable, fault-tolerant, secure and resilient infrastructure.
- Proven ability to write clear, concise documentation.
- Cares greatly about automation and has little tolerance for repetitive manual work.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- AWS and GCP certifications
- Experience with architecture design and providing viable solutions that fit user requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in work experience
WORK LOCATION
- Hybrid Permitted: This is a hybrid permitted role. Some aspects of this role include duties that are better performed at an NPR facility. The employee will be required to be onsite at the Washington, DC office at least 10 days a year. The employee must also reside in an NPR supported location based on the number of onsite days they choose.

COMPENSATION
Salary Range: The U.S. based anticipated salary range for this opportunity is $126,138.84 - $140,595.37 plus benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salaries NPR expects to provide for new hires for the position across all US locations.
