We are actively seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering Core Application Services team. At Five9, we work in small teams and move fast to drive our products and business to the next level. We look for crucial skills in team members such as a problem solving mindset and intellectual curiosity, along with comfortable integration into a deeply collaborative system that rewards impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implementation, and automation of large-scale distributed systems
- Build tools and automation that help Five9 achieve higher availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency
- Work with Engineering teams to deliver high quality software in a fast-paced environment
- Monitor production and development environments to build preventive measures and provide a seamless customer experience
- Work with delivery teams on software improvements to achieve higher availability and lower MTTD
- Participate in on-call rotation (8h shift, 7days a week, every 3-4 weeks)
Key Requirements:
- 5+ years of Linux experience (Centos/Ubuntu)
- 5+ years of public cloud experience (GCP, AWS)
- 5+ years of private cloud experience (VMware ESXi, Openstack)
- Orchestration and management of containers using Kubernetes, Helm, GKE and Docker Experience with Gitlab, ArgoCD, CI/CD methodologies & tools
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Python and Bash
- Experience with Ansible
- Experience with Prometheus
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Experience with Incident Management Process, SRE best practices and continuous improvements
Desirables:
- Experience with messaging and indexing applications such as Kafka, Zookeeper, FLINK, RMQ, and Solr
- Experience with SIP telephony applications such as Freeswitch, Asterisk, Kamailio and WebRTC is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
