Senior DevOps Engineer

Ciklum is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in Argentina or Brazil.

About the role:

We are looking for a talented Senior DevOps Engineer to support our engineering work, with a strong focus on the underlying infrastructure that we need to get from source code to production, plus keep it happy once it's there. We need someone who understands software development, and enjoys working with developers on all the things necessary to improving, deploying, monitoring, and operating production services.

Responsibilities:

• Build complex, highly available, and cost-optimized cloud infrastructure solutions on GCP and in Kubernetes, with a focus on BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud SQL
• Write and maintain Terraform to provision and manage GCP data services, networking, and deployments
• Manage networking and deployment configurations for GCP data platform components
• Designs and implements advanced CI/CD pipelines ensuring quality, security, and efficiency
• Establish comprehensive monitoring and observability strategies across data pipelines and infrastructure
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks, leading troubleshooting efforts for complex data infrastructure issues
• Implement high-level security practices, integrating vulnerability scanning and threat modeling for data workloads
• Work with application and data engineering teams to cultivate operational standards for the GCP data platform
• Support the ongoing GCP migration by designing scalable, secure, and cost-effective data infrastructure

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps engineering role with significant GCP experience
• Hands-on experience building and operating data infrastructure on GCP, specifically with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud SQL
• Proven experience writing Terraform for GCP data services, including networking and deployment configurations
• Experience managing networking (VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, private service connectivity) for GCP data workloads
• Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale GCP solutions
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and architect robust solutions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Professional Data Engineer)

Desirable:

• Cloud: Deep knowledge of GCP services, architectures, and design patterns, and adjacent services like Cloud Storage, Composer/Airflow, Dataproc)
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced Terraform skills, including modules for GC data services and networking
• Programming and Scripting: Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash) and proficiency with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Go, Node.js)
• Containerization and Microservices: Extensive experience with Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), and microservices architectures
• Complex Configuration Management: Expertise in configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
• Robust Networking: In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, VPC design, hybrid cloud architectures, and network security — especially as applied to GCP data services and private connectivity
• Security Focus: Strong understanding of cloud security principles, penetration testing, and compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS), with
  experience applying them to data platforms (IAM for BigQuery, CMEK, VPC Service Controls)
• Data platform experience (nice to have): Familiarity with dbt, Composer/Airflow, or other data orchestration tools; experience supporting a GCP migration
