Senior DevOps Engineer – AI Center of Excellence (AICoE)
What will you contribute?
As part of Finastra’s AI Center of Excellence (AICoE), you will play a critical role in designing, building, and operating the cloud-native platform that powers our AI and product engineering initiatives.
This role goes beyond traditional DevOps. We are looking for a strong platform engineer with deep architectural understanding, capable of designing scalable, secure, and observable systems across environments. You will work closely with architects, AI engineers, and product teams to enable reliable and efficient delivery of modern applications and agentic AI platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform & Infrastructure Engineering
- Design and operate cloud-native platforms across dev, test, and production environments
- Define and implement secure-by-design architectures including networking, identity, and access
- Build reusable infrastructure patterns and platform abstractions for engineering teams
- Cloud Networking & Security (Core Expectation)
- Design and implement load balancing strategies, ingress/egress controls, and traffic routing
- Architect and manage private connectivity (Private Endpoints, VNet/VPC, Service Endpoints)
- Implement secure connectivity patterns (VPN, ExpressRoute, hybrid networking)
- Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, or equivalent
- Establish standardized, modular, reusable IaC patterns (not one-off scripts)
- Automate environment provisioning and configuration end-to-end
- CI/CD & DevSecOps
- Design and manage scalable CI/CD pipelines (build, test, deploy, rollback)
- Integrate security, compliance, and quality gates into pipelines
- Enable progressive delivery models (blue-green, canary, feature flags)
- Reliability, Observability & Performance
- Define SLOs/SLIs, monitoring, alerting, and incident management practices
- Implement observability using OpenTelemetry, logging, metrics, and tracing
- Drive resiliency patterns (failover, autoscaling, chaos testing)
- Architecture & Engineering Excellence
- Identify and eliminate DevOps and infrastructure anti-patterns
- Promote best practices in scalability, reliability, and cost optimization (FinOps)
- Collaborate with architects on reference architectures and platform standards
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: 6–10+ years in DevOps / Platform Engineering / Cloud Engineering
Core Technical Skills
- Strong experience with Azure (Must and Should ), AWS, or GCP
- Deep understanding of:
- Load balancers, API gateways, WAF
- Private endpoints, VNet/VPC design, subnetting, routing
- Identity & access models (RBAC, IAM)
- Hands-on expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, Pulumi, etc.)
- Strong experience with CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
Platform & Cloud Engineering
- Experience with Kubernetes / container platforms (AKS/EKS/GKE) or VM-based architectures where appropriate
- Strong understanding of multi-environment and landing zone design
- Knowledge of cloud security and governance patterns
Scripting & Automation
- Proficiency in at least one: Python, Bash, PowerShell
- Ability to build automation beyond basic scripting (tooling + orchestration mindset)
Observability & Reliability
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, OpenTelemetry)
- Understanding of SRE principles (incident management, SLOs, SLIs)
