Senior Devops Engineer (REF5642G)

The application Digital construction support „Digitale Baubegleitung” is becoming the central platform for digitization of construction sites for fiber-rollout in Germany. Among other things, it enables the collection of data on newly constructed cable routes using compatible measurement systems, including the creation of photos and 3D models of the trenches. In the long term, the web application for visualizing collected data and ensuring quality control forms the basis for the automation of documentation, billing, and AI-supported analysis. This results in added value in the form of transparent visibility of the construction progress of individual projects, as well as detailed documentation of construction quality through daily scans of open trenches.

We are actively seeking a senior Devops Engineer with proven experience in AWS and Kubernetes to support the application of Digital Construction (Digitale Baubegleitung) which will become the central platform for digitization of construction sites for fiber-rollout in Germany.

What is waiting for you?

• Build and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure environment on AWS using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
• Oversee the deployment, configuration and management of clusters
• CI/CD Pipeline Development: designing and managing CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Close collaboration with development teams (Continuous Improvement), GitOps toolset and skillset
• Maintan and adjust monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure. Opentelemetry monitoring with cloud native toolset.
• Ensure that security best practices are followed, including managing access controls, vulnerability management, and compliance requirements
• Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and consistency across deployments and operations
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of application - strong GitOps approach
• Mentor junior DevOps engineers and provide guidance on best practices
• Ensuring application stability (Prod QA) - technical E2E Incident analyses/troubleshooting, cooperate on root cause analysis, troubleshooting & Ops Support

What are we looking for:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Interaction Design, or related field. 
• 5+ years in in devops engineer roles, ideally in enterprise-grade web applications. 
• Hands-on experience with designing, developing, deploying and operating one of the cloud platforms (especially AWS)
• Configuration management with Terraform, knowledge of CaaS architecture
• Know how of Microservice architectures and Rest interfaces (Rest API policy)
• Version controlling, code merging & CI/ CD workflows and tools with gitlab, automation, GitOps
• Monitoring and adjustments of automated system health checks, 
• Familiar with monitoring and logging tools as : Opentelemetry (especially Lumina), and Grafana
• Be familiar with DevOps and modern engineering practices
• Experience with a modern language such as Java, Python, or Node.js, including cloud solution design patterns (microservices, messaging, containers, IAM etc.)
• Constructive problem solving, selfmanagement and result oriented mindset,
• Ability to analyse, troubleshoot and resolve issues in a cloud-native environment
• Strong communication skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps, PO, Hub management.
• Attention to detail
• Curious and interested in the latest technologies, especially in cloud, DevOps and Modern engeneering topics, GitOps
• Fluent English (German is a nice to have)
• Passion for continuous learning and adoption of new technologies.

• Knowledge of Platform security & policies, DB aministration (PostgresSQL), and experience with GeoServer, AWS Services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudFormation is a nice to have
