About the Team
This role sits within the Information Technology - System Services - Payment Systems (PS) team. This is a newly created opportunity to strengthen and evolve the Bank’s critical payment systems infrastructure by embedding modern DevOps practices, automation, and operational excellence across RBA infrastructure services.
The Payment Systems BAU team is responsible for the stability, performance, and reliability of infrastructure platforms that support essential national payment services. The team ensures these systems operate securely, efficiently, and with high availability while continually uplifting capability to meet growing operational and regulatory expectations.
Information Technology anchors the RBA’s strategic responsibilities and is the core provider of technology facilities, services, and support to the organisation. About the role
Reporting to the System Services PS Team Lead, this role requires deep expertise in on-premises infrastructure, including VMware, Windows Server, and Linux Server environments.
You will apply DevOps principles, drive automation using PowerShell and Shell scripting, and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. A strong focus on operational excellence, system reliability, and secure infrastructure delivery is essential.
About you
You are a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with a passion for modernisation and automation. You bring a strong technical foundation and a collaborative mindset:
Terraform Certified with deep knowledge of the HashiCorp toolset (Vault, Terraform, Packer).
Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert or equivalent AWS/GCP certification.
Proven experience deploying Terraform in highly secure, multi-datacentre environments.
Expertise in Windows Server or Red Hat Linux operating systems.
Experience with VMware ESXI 7 or later.
Proficient in configuration management using Puppet or similar tools.
Skilled in application packaging and deployment using Chocolatey, Artifactory, and Red Hat Satellite or similar tools.
Familiarity with Cisco Intersight for infrastructure management.

Comfortable working across multiple disciplines in a large-scale enterprise environment.
Experienced in supporting large-scale workload migrations.
