The Role:
The DevOps Engineer will be pivotal in automating and enhancing our software development processes. This role involves ensuring system reliability, streamlining deployment of new features, and collaborating with our global team to drive innovation and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Automate and improve development and release processes.
- Monitor and maintain system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with global teams, including developers, QA, and IT operations.
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Analyse technology use and develop processes for improvement.
- Provide Level 1 Systems Administration support as part of a paid on-call rotation (approximately one week per month), responding to infrastructure-related incidents and support requests when required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Familiar with cloud services (DigitalOcean, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Good knowledge of Linux OS.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash/Shell, Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.).
- Deep experience with CI/CD and automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of network protocols and security practices.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana.
- Basic to intermediate Systems Administration (Level 1) experience, including troubleshooting servers, user accounts, networking, permissions, and common infrastructure issues.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong English communication skills and ability to work in a diverse, global team.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and development in DevOps.
Conditions
- Role Type: Digital Nomad, Fully Remote.
- Contract Type: Freelancer.
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm (London time).
- Paid on-call rotation: approximately one week per month, during which you may receive Level 1 Systems Administration support requests and incident calls outside of normal working hours.
- Wellbeing Allowance: 24 days per year.
