We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in Barcelona, Spain.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

5+ years of experience managing systems in large-scale production environments.
-
4+ years working in data centers and with enterprise-grade hardware. Strong knowledge of physical computing (CPUs, memory, storage) and hardware troubleshooting.

5+ years of experience with Bash/Python scripting.
-
5+ years managing JVM-based application stacks, including Java memory management, Jetty/Tomcat, and monitoring.

5+ years with virtualization and containerization technologies.
-
5+ years using and configuring monitoring tools like Nagios and Kibana.

Knowledge of basic database administration.

Expertise in DevOps concepts, configuration management (Puppet, Chef, etc.), and deployment tools (Jenkins).

Proficiency with networked storage (iSCSI, NFS) and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/REST, SSL).

Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Software engineering experience in languages like Java or C++.

Familiarity with database systems (MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra), including query writing, performance diagnosis, and replication configuration.

Experience collaborating with third-party vendors for product evaluations and purchasing.

Ability to create project plans, budgets, and documentation involving different products and teams.
What will you be doing in this role?

Ensure daily functionality, performance, and security of our products.

Collaborate with R&D and Infrastructure Engineering on:
-
Infrastructure sizing, provisioning, and capacity management.
-
Performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
-
Diagnosing hardware/networking issues and collaborating with Engineering teams.
-
Upgrades, updates, and migrations (server firmware, databases, application code).
-
Backups and disaster recovery.
-
Automate the application ecosystem using various tools.
-
Assess new technologies and implement process/tool improvements.
-
Manage long-term projects and act as an SME/owner of application and automation components.
-
Oversee capacity, costs, and budgets.
-
Provide escalation support for R&D and Product teams.

Serve as a thought leader, architect, and mentor for junior team members and other teams.
Hours of Work

Full-time (40 hours/week), permanent role.

Hybrid model: Work 2–3 days a week from our Barcelona office near Sagrada Familia.
