Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for characterizing the technical quality of the SailPoint product.
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance, and execution of tests and test harnesses.
  • Should have hands on experience on Windows, UNIX/LINUX OS.
  • Ability to Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
  • Should have ability to debug and solve the configuration problem in product environment.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
  • Planning and executing functional, regression and system level tests
  • Able to apply solid analytical and problem-solving skills to develop creative & thorough test cases.
  • Working & following Scrum / Agile software development methods.
  • Test environment configuration including install and setup of application servers and database servers on Windows or Unix/Linux OS.
  • Developing detailed test cases from functional requirements, technical specifications and application behaviour/constraints, proven ability to develop test plans.
  • Skills in reviewing technical documentation for accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Should have assertive, analytical yet practical approach.
  • Experience with Security testing is plus.
  • Experience working with distributed team with regular interactions.
  • Familiarity/fluency with one or more of the major application servers (Web Logic, Web Sphere, Tomcat, etc.)
  • Familiarity/fluency with one or more of the major database servers (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server)
  • Familiarity with following technologies:
    • Software-based testing (including unit testing, automation, performance testing)
    • Server virtualization
  • Advantages  Proven knowledge and experience in the following subjects:
    • Familiarity/fluency with commercial security applications/infrastructure products and experience with the monitoring/management/deployment of said products highly desirable.
Work experience: 5-8 yearsDesired profile of the candidate:
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and able to work independently on multiple tasks under minimal supervision
  • Should have good diagnostic skills.
  • Should be able to adjust working schedule when necessary to communicate and work with SailPoint offices in US.
What success looks like in the role: Within the first 30 days you will:
  • Onboard into your new role, get familiar with our product offering and technology, proactively meet peers and stakeholders, set up your test and development environment.
  • Go through the product specific trainings to understand the product features
  • Work with the buddy to understand specific team processes.
By 90 days:
  • Get deeper understanding of the specific functional area that you are part of Seek to deeply understand business problems
  • Proactively collaborate on, discuss, debate and refine ideas, problem statements with different (sometimes many) stakeholders, architects and members of your team.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to define test requirements, resolve issues, and ensure proper integration of testing processes.
By 6 months:
  • Occasionally serve as a debugging expert during escalations of systems issues that have evaded the ability of less experienced engineers to solve in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with Product Management and Engineering Manager to produce a prioritized team roadmap.

Skills Required

  • 5-8 years of work experience
  • Hands-on experience with Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and executing tests and test harnesses
  • Experience creating comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Experience with automated testing tools
  • Experience planning and executing functional, regression, and system-level tests
  • Ability to debug and resolve product-environment configuration problems
  • Experience configuring, installing, and setting up application and database servers
  • Familiarity with at least one major application server, such as WebLogic, WebSphere, or Tomcat
  • Familiarity with at least one major database server, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server
  • Familiarity with software-based testing, including unit, automation, and performance testing
  • Familiarity with server virtualization
  • Experience working with Scrum or Agile software development methods
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, diagnostic, communication, organizational, and documentation-review skills
  • Experience with security testing
  • Experience with commercial security applications or infrastructure products
