Overview:

The Senior Archibus Developer will be responsible for actively engaging in consulting practices, research, and development of leading solutions for our internal and external customers, with a primary focus on designing, developing, and customizing the Archibus IWMS platform.
The selected candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders such as Application Architecture, Information Security, Infrastructure, and Database Administrators to understand data dependencies and policies across the organization. This role requires the ability to independently own client engagements end-to-end, from requirements gathering through production support, with minimal oversight.

Essential Functions:

  • Application Development and Testing: Perform installation, configuration, version upgrades, and troubleshooting of Archibus and other off-the-shelf and custom software applications in JLL staging as well as customer test and production environments.

  • Customize and enhance Archibus and other business software applications including GUI development/customization (Web Central, Smart Client), report development (BIRT, Web Central views), and script development (SQL, JavaScript, Java). Contribute to the complete software development life cycle: defining, designing, building, testing, and deploying.

  • Assist with unit testing and quality assurance of the solution built at the various stages.

  • Identify gaps and improvements in the proposed design and partner with Solution Consultants and Project Managers to reevaluate the design and project plan.

Customer Support:

  • Analyze customers’ challenges and take a primary role in designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive Archibus-based solutions that integrate smoothly into customer environments.

  • Diagnose and resolve production issues using application log analysis, stack-trace diagnosis, and database-level analysis (triggers, procedures, locking/blocking). Communicate findings clearly in customer-facing ticket updates and internal documentation.

Database and Report Development:

  • Develop and debug Archibus connectors and data migration interfaces to integrate disparate applications and databases, including staging tables, SFTP feed processing, and post-process handlers. Perform data mapping, data manipulation, and data migration among various database systems and enterprise applications, including Archibus.

  • Develop and maintain Archibus reports, BIRT (.rptdesign), SQL Server Reporting Services, Archibus Web Central reports, or other reporting tools.

Education, Certifications, and Experience:

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant domain is preferred; comparable work experience will be considered.

  • 5+ years of relevant Archibus development and implementation experience is required. Eptura (Archibus) certification is highly preferred. Tableau certification (server or desktop) is highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

  • 5+ years of implementation, deployment, and hands-on development experience with Archibus, including Web Central, Smart Client, and workflow rules.

  • Archibus version upgrade planning and execution, including schema migration, post-upgrade validation, and data cleanup.

  • Working knowledge of relational database systems, object-oriented programming, and web application development. Solid understanding of development and programming best practices.

  • Experience with both the Oracle and MSSQL platforms: proficiency in administering, designing, building, and troubleshooting queries, triggers, stored procedures, and functions, including performance and locking/blocking analysis.

  • Experience with various web APIs. Implementation and deployment experience with enterprise software.

  • Experience configuring and implementing SAML-based Single Sign-On (SSO) integration for Archibus, including identity provider integration and user authentication workflows.

  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows (branching, merging, pull requests).

  • Experience with Tomcat or similar Java application server administration, including configuration, log analysis, and environment/hosting coordination.

  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical tasks with minimal oversight.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including customer-facing support communication and technical documentation (knowledge base articles, runbooks).

  • Ability to convey thoughts and ideas in a clear and concise manner.

  • Experience with BIRT (Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools), SQL Server Reporting Services, or similar reporting software.

  • Working experience with Archibus development languages and technologies such as XML (AXVW view definitions), JavaScript, SQL (PL/SQL and T-SQL), and Java.

  • Ability to adhere to project schedules, project constraints, and the prioritization of project tasks.

Preferred:

  • Implementation, deployment, or working experience with IBM TRIRIGA, FM:Systems, or other Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS).
