Responsibilities
What to expect:
Conduct requirements analysis for the development of new features, components, and enhancements to existing systems.
Produce and update solution papers, overall and detailed design documents.
Participate in design discussions, and conduct design/code walkthrough meetings.
Develop code using technologies including but not limited to C++, STL, Boost, gRPC, PL/SQL, Tuxedo, Multithreading, Unix, Linux, Python, and XML.
Contribute to new development as well as maintenance of existing complex software systems.
Maintain adherence to Swift's security guidelines and coding standards.
Adhere strictly to Swift's reference architecture and design artifacts.
Follow Swift's development and release methodologies (CM/CI/CD).
Perform performance benchmarks, identify and solve performance issues, and implement fixes.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
University degree in computer science or a related field.
5 to 10 years of experience in systems development.
Required Technical Skills
Proven knowledge and hands-on development experience with C++11/14, OO techniques, and C++ Libraries and Frameworks such as STL, Boost.
Experience with protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, and gRPC.
Hands-on experience with debuggers (gdb) and profilers (Valgrind).
Experience in developing on Linux (RHEL) and Unix (HP-UX) platforms.
Proficiency in performance tuning applications on Linux (RHEL) / Unix (HP-UX) systems.
Proficient in scripting with KSH, Python, or Perl.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools such as Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket/GIT.
Preferred Technical Skills
Experience working on critical, highly available, high-performance software systems.
Knowledge of XML, parsing methods, XML schema, XSLT, and XPath.
Familiarity with security technologies: PKI, HMAC, AES, digest algorithms, TLS.
Understanding of relational databases and PL/SQL programming with the ability to write efficient SQL.
