Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Lead the identification of manual processes suitable for automation in collaboration with business teams, contributing to workflow enhancements and efficiency improvements.
- Lead the development, deployment, and testing of RPA solutions, working under the guidance of senior developers to ensure successful implementation.
- Monitor automated workflows post-deployment, helping troubleshoot and resolve basic issues to minimize operational disruptions.
- Drive the standardization of automation processes, ensuring alignment with business requirements and contributing to scalable solutions.
- Maintain detailed documentation for automations, including process descriptions, outcomes, and potential improvements.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance (QA) standards during the automation process, supporting the delivery of high-quality, bug-free solutions.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including IT and business units, to ensure automations meet business needs and provide value.
- Support the setup and monitoring of alert systems to detect performance issues in automations, helping ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations.
Senior RPA Developer – SSA (JHN/Durban) Fixed Term Contract for 12 months
Position Purpose
Responsible for the creation, design, development, and implementation of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) projects across the AMETA region, contributing to operational efficiency and process standardization.
Major/Key Accountabilities
Assess and Improve Automation Opportunities
· Evaluate business processes for RPA suitability and estimate development effort, ensuring alignment with finance and controllership objectives.
· Provide guidance on process improvements to enhance compatibility and effectiveness of automation tools.
Design and Develop Scalable RPA Solutions
· Create and maintain Solution Design Documents (SDDs), and build Blue Prism automations in accordance with agreed regional and CoE design standards and development best practices.
Deliver and Support Automation Projects
· Drive RPA solutions through testing, change management, and production readiness cycles, while providing operational support and managing virtual workforce performance.
· Work as an active member of a Scrum Agile team, participating in all Scrum ceremonies including daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure collaborative and iterative delivery of automation solutions.
Control and Monitor Production Processes
· Oversee the execution of production processes in Blue Prism, ensuring stability, scalability, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
· Manage robot scheduling, load balancing, and exception handling to maintain operational continuity.
Ensure Quality and Continuous Improvement
· Lead QA processes, investigate incidents and exceptions, and implement enhancements to improve automation reliability and business value.
· Lead hyper care activities post go-live to ensure solution stability and smooth transition to business-as-usual operations.
Enable Knowledge Sharing and Capability Building
· Mentor colleagues through training programs, develop technical documentation, and support cross-skilling initiatives to build internal automation expertise.
· Participate in peer reviews of code and documentation to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to development standards.
Experience:
· Experience developing RPA Automations in Blue Prism (essential)
· Experience developing RPA Automations for ERPs is desirable.
· Developing for Microsoft Power Platform.
· Proven experience with stakeholder management and communication skills across diverse business functions.
· Experience working in Scrum Agile teams
Qualifications
• Information technology degree, or equivalent qualifications and professional experience
Desirable : Blue Prism accreditation

· Expertise in Blue Prism Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platform.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power BI and Power Apps.
