Position summary

Design experiences that help clinicians complete critical work with clarity, efficiency, and confidence. In this role, you will shape simple and effective interactions across mobile and web workflows, using design and design thinking to improve both user experience and business outcomes. This position is based in Pune, India and is a hybrid role. You will report to the UX Zone Lead for the Mobile Zone, Senior Manager, Experience Design.

About the Team

Our UX team in the Mobile Zone leads user experience design for several clinician-facing iOS and Android mobile applications that enable clinicians to access the Electronic Health Record (EHR) on their phone, along with related web-based workflows that create a cohesive cross-platform experience. We design across a broad set of workflows: including colleague messaging, inbox action items, and exam documentation, with an emphasis on reducing friction and supporting efficient task completion. Our work spans research, interaction design, information architecture, prototyping, and design partnership with product, engineering, content, and clinical stakeholders. We aim to create experiences that are practical, intuitive, and aligned to user needs, while thoughtfully using AI and voice technologies where they improve workflows and add value.

Essential Job Responsibilities

· Define strong problem statements, success metrics, and design hypotheses to evaluate whether solutions are delivering intended outcomes.

· Apply systems thinking to evaluate problems from multiple perspectives and anticipate downstream impacts.

· Conduct user research in a variety of forms that will help answer open questions and de-risk our possible solutions

· Translate user needs, business goals, and technical constraints into clear design directions and experience requirements.

· Create prototypes, journey flows, and supporting artifacts of varying levels of fidelity that communicate design intent clearly

· Design simple, effective, and elegant interactions across mobile app and web experiences for clinician workflows.

· Collaborate with product, engineering, research, content, and clinical partners to shape and refine solutions.

· Present thoughtful rationale for design recommendations and adapt proposals based on feedback and evidence.

· Participate in design reviews, usability validation, and iteration cycles to improve experience quality.

· Adapt to ambiguity, shifting priorities, and changing requirements while keeping work moving forward.

· Use AI tools thoughtfully in design workflows to accelerate exploration, synthesis, and iteration, while applying human judgment to evaluate outputs and determine what is appropriate for clinician-facing experiences.

Additional Job Responsibilities

· Support design operations and team practices that improve consistency and quality across projects.

· Contribute to design systems by identifying reusable patterns and opportunities for standardization.

· Document design decisions, assumptions, and open questions for cross-functional visibility.

· Join planning discussions to help shape priorities, scope, and sequencing.

· Participate in knowledge-sharing or informal guidance for other designers on the team.

· Partner with analytics teams to interpret findings and inform design decisions.

· Align product content and microcopy across workflows to support clarity and usability.

· Explore emerging interaction patterns and technologies that may improve clinician workflows.

· Coordinate with stakeholders across functions to maintain alignment through design execution.

Expected Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

· 3 to 8 years of experience in UX, product design, interaction design, or a related discipline.

· Experience designing for digital products, with demonstrated work in mobile and/or web applications.

· Experience creating low-fidelity design artifacts, user flows, prototypes, and interaction specifications.

· Experience collaborating with product management, engineering, and content partners in a cross-functional environment. Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams preferred but not required.

· Experience using design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or comparable tools. Experience using AI-forward tools such as Figma Make and LLM-backed IDEs (Windsurf, Codex, Claude Code, etc.) preferred but not required.

· Experience applying user-centered design methods, including problem framing, iterative design, and usability feedback.

· Experience working with complex workflows, information-heavy interfaces, or enterprise products.

· Experience leveraging metrics or qualitative evidence to guide and evaluate design decisions.

· Ability to communicate design rationale clearly in written and verbal formats.
